Xiong Yong, suffering from uremia, has to go to the county town every other day for dialysis treatment, and he calls himself a "race against time". Xiong Yong, who is frail and sickly, straightened his waist with an optimistic attitude, and in 2019, with the help of local poverty alleviation cadres, he farmed Shandong "Wenshui" Luhua chicken to get rid of poverty; in 2020, Xiong Yong was rated as an advanced individual in poverty alleviation work by Fengdu County.

Thunderbolt after 80 years old suffers from uremia

In 1982, Xiong Yong was born in Yeliping Village, Sanjian Township, Fengdu County, and his family was poor since childhood, xiong Yong's dream from childhood was to let his family live a good life through his own efforts. When Xiong Yong was 22 years old, his father died of asthma, leaving a large amount of foreign debt. In order to take care of his mother and elderly grandmother, Xiong Yong decided to start a business, and he used his savings accumulated over the years to set up a cattle farm in the village.

One day in May 2012, Xiong Yong, who was working, suddenly felt dizzy, nausea, vomiting, and then his whole body was puffy and confused. In the hospital, the diagnosis stunned him: uremia. The cost of seven or eight thousand yuan per month for dialysis soon put the family in trouble.

Optimistic and open-minded Xiong Yong

In order to treat Xiong Yong's illness, the old mother went to the restaurant to brush the dishes, and every month's salary was sent to him. In addition to his basic expenses, his younger brother Xiong Gang, who just went to work after retiring from the army, also hit his card on time with his monthly salary. According to Xiong Yong's physical condition, dialysis is required three times a week. In order to save money, Xiong Yong only dialysis twice or even once a week.

At the end of 2017, Xiong Yong's family was listed as a poor household in Yeliping Village, where he was "poor due to illness", and the local government arranged a public welfare post for him. With the continuous improvement of the proportion of medical insurance reimbursement for serious illnesses, Xiong Yong has gone to the hospital for dialysis more often, his physical condition has improved, and his entrepreneurial dream has become stronger.

On the road to entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation cadres "opened the way" for him

Considering that raising chickens is fast, at the end of 2018, Xiong Yong used borrowed money to buy 400 three-yellow chicken seedlings. However, due to the lack of breeding experience, these chickens all died before they could grow up.

The mountain forest area of Yeliping Village is relatively large, which is suitable for raising chickens under the forest. In view of Xiong Yong's actual situation, Yang Yun, the first secretary of Yeliping Village, and the team members stationed in the village decided to raise chickens under the forest as a breakthrough for his family's help.

In April 2019, poverty alleviation cadres "opened the way" for Xiong Yong, took him to Wanzhou for field investigation and study, and helped introduce more than a thousand reed chickens. At the end of the year, the chicken was successfully released, Xiong Yong earned more than 20,000 yuan of "the first bucket of gold", and he successfully took off the hat of a poor household.

After tasting the sweetness, Xiong Yong's confidence increased greatly, and he wanted to expand the scale of breeding. Xiong Yong's idea was supported by the Poverty Alleviation Group of the General Office of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress to help Xiong Yong carry out large-scale breeding of Luhua chicken.

Xiong Yong and several nearby villagers registered and established the Xinxing Aquaculture Professional Cooperative in Fengdu County, and Xiong Yong was the legal representative of the cooperative. Xiong Yong set up a cooperative and signed a luhua chicken agency agreement, which means that he has taken a solid step on the road to poverty alleviation.

Live well and live the excitement of life

Xiong Yong told his brother Xiong Gang the good news. Considering the scale of raising chickens and Xiong Yong's physical condition, Xiong Just came back to start a business with his brother.

At the top of the mountain at an altitude of 900 meters in Yeliping Village, the brothers built three standardized chicken sheds in one go and expanded the scale of breeding to 10,000. Ten thousand chickens need two thousand catties of corn a day, and the brothers have to run more than 20 times on their shoulders, and they have to beat into powder, and there is almost no time for rest.

Tired, but unable to hide the joy in his heart, Xiong Yong said that his chickens are only fed once a day in the morning, and the rest of the time, the chickens find food in the mountains by themselves. Because of eating well and living well, Xiong Yong's Reed Flower Chicken is very strong and spirited.

In 2020, 10,000 chickens were successfully released, and the Poverty Alleviation Group of the General Office of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress helped Xiong Yong's Luhua chicken find sales channels and sign sales orders through e-commerce platforms and live streaming with goods. Last year, Xiong Yong's net income from raising chickens reached 200,000 yuan.

Xiong Yong's left arm was exposed to blood vessels due to long-term dialysis, and it looked like a "string of beads". For several years, he has been fighting against fate. Xiong Yong said in an interview: "On the road to entrepreneurship, we will definitely live well and live out the excitement of life. ”
