Gui Xuhua, a funeral practitioner who has been practicing for 36 years: Come again, and still have no regrets about the original choice

Over the past 36 years, Gui Xuhua has worked selflessly in the special post of thermal chemical industry, working no less than 200 hours of overtime every year, and has sent away tens of thousands of people who have passed away for a long time. With his own practical actions, he has won the understanding and respect of the society, and has also been fully affirmed by the organization, dozens of times by the Honghu Funeral Management Institute as an advanced worker, from 2003 to 2005 for three consecutive years in the Honghu Civil Affairs System annual assessment was rated as excellent, Gui Xuhua in 2003, April 2006 has been commended by the Honghu Municipal People's Government "Honghu City Seventh Labor Model", Jingzhou Municipal People's Government commendation awarded "Jingzhou City Labor Model" and other honors.

But Gui Xuhua said that when he first faced this position, he was still a little resistant, "I felt that I was so young, but I was engaged in such a job, and at that time, others knew that my profession was not willing to contact me more." He even worried at one point that doing this job would affect a lifelong event. But seeing that the old staff of the funeral home were silently serving, he slowly relaxed: "These things always need to be done, and since I have chosen to do it, then I must do it well." Later, he not only did a good job, but also successfully solved the lifelong events he had worried about. With a family and children, Gui Xuhua also has an extra responsibility. "This job is not only for yourself, but also for your family, and since it is a good deed, of course, you will not regret choosing this job."

The sinking of the "Oriental Star" passenger ship in June 2015 was the most memorable experience in Gui Xuhua's career. In the aftermath of the disposal of the remains, he was responsible for the cremation of the remains in the workshop day and night, facing the 50-degree heat and pungent smell, wearing thick protective clothing, and his whole body was soaked with sweat, and he worked silently without complaint. In the end, the cremation of 105 dead bodies was completed without error. He also remembered that an elderly couple in their seventies had made a request when their children came to claim the remains, hoping to leave their rings behind. Originally, the ring was specially customized by the son to commemorate the second old golden marriage. But because the body was soaked in water for too long, the fingers were swollen and the ring could not be removed. Gui Xuhua used a pin to carefully pierce the skin around the ring, draining blood, and finally succeeded in removing the two rings. He said that seeing his children thank him with tears in his eyes, he felt that all his sweat had not been in vain in those days.
