After the case occurred, the public security organs quickly activated the mechanism for cracking major cases, and set up a special case team to carry out on-site investigation, visiting investigation, suspect arrest and other investigation work.
At about 2:00 a.m. on November 2, the police arrested the criminal suspect Zhu Mouqi (male, 24 years old, from Yanshan County, Anhui Province). After interrogation, Zhu Mouqi confessed to the facts of the crime.

The girl's family spoke up: the body was not dressed properly
Earlier, according to Red Star News, on October 30, Lingling (pseudonym), an 8-year-old girl from Sanhe Community in Changsha County, Changsha City, Hunan Province, was found missing on October 30. After Lingling disappeared, her family and her community issued a search notice saying that Lingling was wearing a pink sweatshirt and fur slippers on her feet when she disappeared.
On November 1, Lingling's father, Mr. Zhang, responded that Lingling had been found but had unfortunately died.
Mr. Zhang said that on the morning of the incident, Lingling rode out on a bicycle, but by 13:00 in the afternoon, Lingling had not yet returned home. On the evening of October 30, when Mr. Zhang finally saw Lingling, he found that the child's clothes were not neat.
