Based on Ella Raven's best-selling novel of the same name, it tells the story of a series of strange events that happen after a newlywed couple moves to a new home, and finally the wife gives birth to the baby of satan the devil in the conspiracy of a cult organization.

Together with Disgust and The Strange Lodger, the film forms Roman Polanski's "apartment trilogy," in which the three films take place in apartment buildings in metropolises. The Bramford Apartments in this film are actually the famous Dakota Apartments in New York's Central Park West. As mentioned in the film, it is home to New York celebrities, including Judy Garland, Lauren Baikal, and Boris Carloff. In 1980, former Beatles member John Lennon was shot dead in front of his apartment, and to this day, on December 8 (the day Lennon was killed), Beatles fans from all over the world still spontaneously hold memorial ceremonies in front of the Dakota apartment and at the "Strawberry Fields" Lennon cemetery at the entrance to 72nd Street in Central Park.

The Dakota Apartment was built between 1880 and 1884 because people joked that the upper midtown west of Manhattan was too far from downtown New York, like the northern U.S. state of Dakota. Developer Edward Clark was one of the first to advocate the concept of a serviced apartment for the wealthy, the exterior of the building is in the North Germanic Renaissance style, while the internal structure is distinctly French, elegant and elegant, but always permeated with a certain eerie atmosphere.

Ninety percent of the footage was taken from The Dakota apartment and its Manhattan district, with the rest filmed in Los Angeles.

At the beginning of the film, Polanski takes a bird's-down shot over the Manhattan block and falls into this atmospheric and eerie building.

The south exit of the Dakota apartment is the main scene of the film. It was here that mad fan David Chapman waited for John Lennon to come out of the apartment, ask for his autograph, and then shoot Lennon when he returned from the studio at night. In the film, Terry, a young woman Rosemary met in the laundry room, fell to her death here.

The scene inside the room in Dakota's apartment was filmed in the studio, while the footage of the corridor aisle was all shot on the spot.

Rosemary began to have nightmares, and the scene in the dream was filmed at Playa del Rey at Kings Beach on los Angeles' West Side. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean, Kings Beach is a residential area for wealthy celebrities, with a marina moored for luxury yachts and was once a surfing destination.

Rosemary dreamed of being raped by the devil under the heavenly court of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican in Rome. Although Michelangelo's ceiling painting Genesis for the Sistine Chapel is only a replica from the studio, this scene has attracted protests from the church for the film.

After becoming pregnant, Rosemary was forced to undergo treatment by Dr. Sapirstein, and her health deteriorated, which aroused the suspicion of her friend Hedge. Hedge Joelos Marie meets at the Time-Life Mansion, but he never appears. Rosemary entered the building to make a phone call, only to learn that Hedge had been hospitalized with a violent illness. Located on 1271 Avenue in Rockefeller Center in New York, the 48-story Times-Life Building was built in 1959 as the office building of Times Publishing, which published prestigious periodicals such as Time Magazine, Life Illustrated, Entertainment Weekly, and Sports Illustrated, and was an important film landmark.

Hutch died unexpectedly, and Rosemary attended his funeral and received a book on witchcraft cults that Hedge had left her. The cemetery was filmed at forest lawn memorial park in los Angeles' Hollywood Hills, known as America's preferred cemetery, where Hollywood film emperor Clark Gable, "Father of Mickey Mouse" Walt Disney and King superstar Michael Jackson are buried. Before becoming a cemetery, it was a Hollywood filming site for classic war scenes from David Griffith's The Birth of a Nation.

Huffle's books were taken away and thrown away by her husband, Guy, and Rosemary ran to the bookstore to buy books about witchcraft cults. The scene required Mia Farrow, who plays Rosemary, to stumble through the traffic on 55th Avenue on Fifth Avenue, who was afraid of being hit by a car, and Polanski reassured her, "Don't forget that you're a pregnant woman, and all the cars will avoid you." Polanski played for Mia Farrow in front of the Tiffany Headquarters building and filmed the passage himself with a camera.

Rosemary realizes that Dr. Sapirstein is in cahoots with a cult and that her husband Guy has been bribed by them, so she calls Dr. Hill for help. The phone booth was temporarily erected on 62nd Street, Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

During the filming of this scene, Polanski's wife, Sharon Tate, also came to visit the class. Two years later, while pregnant, she was killed at home by the cult "Manson Family," which is said to have been killed by Rosemary's Baby.

Sharon Tate was buried in holy cross cemetery in Culver, Los Angeles, along with her and Polanski's unborn son, whom they had already given him: Paul Richard Polanski.
