Because he was an old minister of the Four Dynasties, the emperor gave him a lot of face and allowed him to use the official carriage to live in the public station when he returned home. In December of the following year, Liu Ji died at the age of 67 at the Hirono Mansion in his hometown. It is said that Liu Ji's home was stolen in his later years, and he died of fright.
