Luhun Reservoir is one of the five large reservoirs in Luoyang, second only to Xiaolangdi Reservoir and Yahekou Reservoir. In order to ensure the safety of the middle and lower reaches of the river and the Longmen Grottoes, the Luhun Reservoir opened its floodgates at 1 p.m. on August 30.
The relevant person in charge of the reservoir told the Elephant News reporter that as of 8 o'clock on September 1, the water level of the Luhun Reservoir was 318.09 meters, which was lower than the water level on August 31. At present, the reservoir is still discharging floodwater, and special personnel have been arranged to be on duty 24 hours a day to conduct all-day inspections around the reservoir and the river, and once it is found that unrelated personnel stay, fishing and other activities will be persuaded to return.
"This year's rainfall is significantly 20% to 30% more than last year," and we are now taking control of the flow to drain 32 cubic meters per second to ensure the safety of the reservoir." Elephant News reporter learned from the Zhaotai Reservoir Management Bureau that as of 16:00 on September 1, the water level of the Zhaotai Reservoir was 172.49 meters, and the water level of the super flood limit was 0.49 meters.
At present, all the staff of the Zhaotai Reservoir are on duty, strengthening the inspection and observation around the reservoir, and the rescue materials have been prepared sufficiently.
Elephant News reporters learned from the Henan Provincial Bureau of Hydrology and Water Resources that as of 8 o'clock on September 1, the province has five large reservoirs in the province, namely Yahekou, Panshi, Luhun, Shi floodplain, and Zhaotai, as well as Qunying, Ma'anshi, Gongshang, Shimen (Linzhou), Nangudong, Jianli, Baiqiang, Boahekou, Jiulongjiao, Dagoukou, Dragon Neck, Sihe, Laoya River, Rabbit Lake, PaperFang (Yuzhou), Penghe River, Jianshankou, Tengkou, Mamiao, Angou, Hechen, Chongyang, Tsukagang Temple, Longwanggou, Penglikeng, Steep Slope, Grinding Gang, Gaoqiu, Shimen (Biyang). 29 medium-sized reservoirs exceeded the flood limit.
The total water storage of the province's 24 large reservoirs (excluding Xiaolangdi, Sanmenxia, Guxian and Xixiayuan reservoirs) is 5.843 billion cubic meters, with an average of 3.306 billion cubic meters in the same period of many years, an additional storage of 2.537 billion cubic meters, and a usable water volume of 5.156 billion cubic meters. The total amount of water stored in the 108 medium-sized reservoirs was 1.237 billion cubic meters, with an average of 813 million cubic meters in the same period of many years, and 424 million cubic meters, and the available water was 1.050 billion cubic meters.
