"Water Cube Cup" bronze medalist Zhang Jiannan: Canadian Supergirl who can play the horn

China Overseas Chinese Network, August 6, after conquering the final judges with a jazz-style "Extraordinary" and winning the bronze medal of the 2016 "Water Cube Cup" Overseas Chinese Youth Chinese Song Contest, Zhang Jianan from the Toronto Division of Canada smiled particularly brightly, because by participating in the "Water Cube Cup", her singer dream was one step closer.

Zhang Jiannan was born and raised in Canada to Shenyang parents. The 15-year-old is only a freshman in high school this year, but she has loved singing since she was a child and has received professional training. Zhang Jiannan joined the choir at the age of 6, and often participated in singing competitions, becoming a guest performer at various evenings such as the Overseas Chinese Spring Festival Gala.

Unexpectedly, in addition to loving to sing Chinese songs and playing the piano, Zhang Jiannan also learned to play the horn. The horn, also known as the French horn, although it belongs to the brass instrument, it can not only blow out the loud sound of the brass pipe but also the soft sound of the wooden pipe, so it is also known as the king of the instrument in the symphony. Generally speaking, most of the people who play the horn are boys, but Zhang Jianan, a little girl, can also blow the horn loudly. And by learning to play the horn, Zhang Jiannan can also be full of energy when singing.

Zhang Jiannan's voice has explosive power that is extremely inconsistent with her 15-year-old age. In the 2016 Super Female Audition, Zhang Jiannan won the Canadian Singing Region Championship in the all-Canadian competition with her beautiful voice and strong explosiveness! Zhang Jiannan also won the reputation of "mobile small sound", and represented the Canadian Singing District to participate in the Mango TV Supergirl Top 100 Birth Contest, and directly advanced to the Top 100 Supergirls with super singing strength. In the Top 100 competition, Zhang Jiannan was praised by the on-site judges with a song "feeling good", and was evaluated as: "A girl who crossed the ocean to sing, with an over-aged voice, an oriental girl with a Western voice, only 15 years old, but has a unique voice beyond age, which is very rare!" ”

This year is also the first time Zhang Jiannan participated in the "Water Cube Cup" Chinese song contest, Zhang Jiannan, who has been familiar with and loved Chinese culture since childhood, not only deepened his understanding of Chinese culture by singing Chinese songs, but also sang from Canada to the stage of the Beijing Finals, and finally won the bronze award. Zhang Jiannan said that her dream is to become a singer, this time to participate in the "Water Cube Cup" competition is a particularly valuable experience in her life, winning the bronze award is also a particularly important award for her, for her singer road will be a huge inspiration.

This time to Beijing to participate in the competition is also Zhang Jianan's first time to Beijing, she quickly fell in love with this city with thousands of years of culture. Zhang Jiannan said that it was all Chinese here, and it felt very kind, "just like at home." Unfortunately, due to the busy game, Zhang Jiannan was unable to visit Beijing properly. But she said that in the future, she will have the opportunity to come back to Beijing, see more, feel more, learn more and understand Chinese culture.
