China News Online, November 2 (Li Siyu Yu Jun) As a series of projects of the Baoshan Citizens' Aesthetic Education Classroom, the "Chuan, Shift - Rock Color Painting Exhibition" sponsored by the Baoshan District Library was unveiled on the 2nd in the exhibition hall on the 5th floor of the museum. The exhibition invites Dr. Ma Lin of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts as curator, and establishes a social aesthetic education platform for experts and artists to enter the community.
"Rock painting" is a unique painting language system, which is a term for painting with natural rock particles as the medium. Founded in 2017, Shanghai University Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts Rock Painting Studio (hereinafter referred to as Shangmei Rock Painting Studio) is the only teaching and research institution in China's art academies with the professional direction of "mural and rock painting design".

According to curator Ma Lin, the theme of the exhibition is "Transmission and Migration", that is, inheriting traditions and transferring hair. This is also the embodiment of the teaching concept of Shangmei Rock Painting Studio, inheriting the profound traditional Chinese mural culture and transferring it to the context of contemporary art and the process of daily art creation, so that Rock Painting has an open and diverse development space.
Ma Lin is the aesthetic education tutor of Baoshan Citizen Aesthetic Education Class, and has devoted herself to the practical and theoretical research of art communities and community art museums in recent years. On the same day, Marlene and the artist Miao Tong and the students of the studio carried out a live guided tour. Starting from the source of rock painting, Miao Tong told the audience how ore was converted into powder for coloring, the texture of rock painting was different from other paintings, and how to innovate rock painting while inheriting ancient murals.
This exhibition exhibits the works of Miao Tong, Chen Jing, teachers of Shangmei Yancai Painting Studio, and students Jin Lu, Wang Jiale, Tu Yaqian, Quan Li, Chen Cao, Wang Zhiqiang, Wang Wendi, Mei Jinhong, Wu Fei, Tao Li, and Guo Chenling in recent years in the teaching and creative practice of Yancai.
Entering the exhibition hall, the first thing that catches your eye is a group of works that imitate the ancient Guizi murals and Dunhuang murals. Classic imitations are a special course of the Rock Painting Studio. In June this year, Shangmei Rock Painting Studio conducted a 30-day on-site copying teaching of "Guizi Face Wall - Mural Imitation", and teachers and students analyzed traditional classics through zero-distance observation at the grotto mural site. The copied works in the exhibition hall allow the audience to understand the material composition of ancient murals and the painting techniques of layer superposition, which will help to understand the origin of Chinese painting.
The second part of the exhibition shows the creative achievements of teachers and students. Shangmei Rock Painting Studio adopts a teaching system that simultaneously unfolds between collection and processing and rock color creation, so that students can complete the transformation from figurative thinking to abstract thinking and the transformation from single image thinking to material thinking on the basis of understanding the relevance of artistic language and material media. Rooted in the language of rock painting, it explores a new path for the contemporary transformation of "local painting" in the context of "oriental aesthetics".
Miao Tong's "Heaven on Earth" series is based on suzhou's "Humble Administrator's Garden", which highlights the characteristics of rock color while creating an ethereal and mysterious illusion space; Chen Jing's "Shanghai Pearl" combines the Oriental Pearl with the Silk Road remote imagination to depict a beautiful home with oriental rock color; the works of the studio students take Buddhist grottoes and pebbles, cakes, clothes, houses, etc. as the theme, while highlighting the beauty of rock color materials, creating an abstract space that combines color and form...
The third part of the exhibition uses images to reflect the teachers and students of Shangmei Rock Painting Studio's investigation of the Guizi murals, the Kyzyl Gaha Grottoes, and their thoughts on rock paintings.
A group of document cabinets in the exhibition hall display the raw materials and creative tools of rock painting, which is the exhibition area of the works of wuyishan", wuyishan", a rock painting studio. This course guides students to trace the cultural connotation of local materials, and feel the beauty of materials in nature in the process of collecting colored soil and colored sandstone. The colored soil processing and natural mineral pigments such as stone blue, stone green, and ochre and other natural mineral pigments and collection tools are displayed, which presents the process of collecting materials for the creation of rock color paintings in front of the audience.
Relevant people said that Baoshan District Library is not only a reading space, but also an art space, and a direct place to play the role of public aesthetic education, where the audience can interact with artists at close range. The Baoshan Citizens' Aesthetic Education Class will hold lectures, workshops, art into the community and other activities, so that more citizens have the opportunity to contact rock painting and intuitively feel its unique charm.
It is reported that the exhibition will last until November 30. (End)
