Killian Mbappe's struggles at Paris Saint-Germain proved that he was not a centre-forward

Three months have passed since the 2021/22 season and the world is still waiting to see Paris Saint-Germain turn into the harlem of football!

They have the biggest stars, play in one of the largest cities in the world, and their jerseys are even provided by The Trapeze Jordan. However, no matter when they step onto the pitch this season, Paris Saint-Germain looks more like a Blackpool Tower than the Eiffel Tower!

Mauricio Pochettino is not a fitting fit for the team Paris Saint-Germain is trying to build, which is a well-established fact. But his stars also didn't do their part.

Lionel Messi has yet to make a big splash in France, and doubts are beginning to be seen whether he will succeed at this stage of his career. Neymar is past his peak, without huge calves, and he behaves like Jack Grelish. But many of Paris Saint-Germain's problems come from using Killian Mbappe as the No. 9 player.

The 22-year-old is the most likely player of his generation to win the Ballon d'Or at some point in the next decade. It has felt like inevitable since he made his debut in Monaco five years ago. He has piled up his resume, scoring ridiculously many goals in the highest leagues. But that doesn't mean he's a center forward.

In Paris Saint-Germain's 2-2 draw with Leipzig, Mbappe once again struggled to lead the way, passing down many opportunities and not looking like a "number 9" at all.

Although Messi missed the draw at the Red Bull Stadium, Paris Saint-Germain's forward line still looks extremely unbalanced, with no natural striker. Despite their wealth, they still lack a direct way to score goals and a player who can unite all the superstars.

If Mbappe moves to Real Madrid, Karim Benzema will join his attacking ranks, and Benzema's performance at the Ballon d'Or has surprised many fans. Vinicius Jr. is also starting to make a name for himself, and signing Mbappe to his flank is a frightening prospect. This is in part because the player between these two players is one of the most natural centers.

Paris Saint-Germain don't have a man like Benzema in his current squad (Icardi is so far from that, and he's busy arguing with his wife online).
