Grey Bunting (scientific name: Emberiza variabilis): Body length 16-17.5 cm. Male adult birds (autumn feathers): Each feather on the upper body has a rusty brown margin and a light gray ventral surface. Female adult birds (spring feathers): yellowish brown on the upper body, the two longitudinal bands and ear feathers on the head are rusty brown, the back has black longitudinal stripes, and the tail coverts are rust red; the tail feathers are brown, the central pair of tail feathers are rust red, and the rest of the tail feathers have a rusty narrow margin; the flying feathers are brown, the feather margins are brown, the feathers of the neutral and large coverts are lighter, and the feather margins of the median secondary flight feathers are rusty; the lower body is dirty white, with olive brown markings, and the stripes on both sides are wider, forming an olive chest band on the thorax. The iris is brown; the mouth is dark black, the lower mouth flesh is brown; the foot flesh is brown.
