Flower sticks, sand dates and shuttles are currently the three main shrubs in Inner Mongolia Alxa that prevent the Tengger Desert from moving east. The flower sticks are taller, some grow into small trees, the sand dates are shorter, laterally expanded, and the shuttles behave in general.
A few years ago, Wu Xiangrong's public welfare team planted more flower sticks, as well as some sand dates and shuttles. This time in the woodland inspection, found that the growth of sand jujube is very good, vigorous vitality. Moreover, there are many small seedlings of sand jujube in the sand, which is the natural reproduction of sand jujube after flowering and fruiting. In addition, the branches of the sand jujube stick to the ground, or the rhizomes grow underground, can also grow seedlings.
Now it seems that the next few planting areas can be appropriately adjusted for the selection and collocation of saplings. We even think that we can "one flower stick and two sand dates", or "two flower sticks and one sand stick", which may reduce the efficiency of planting, but it is more conducive to the establishment of a good ecology.
Last September's flower stick, the value of the flower stick is very high
The problem is that the seedlings and seeds of the sand jujube are not easy to buy. "In the early days, I planted sand dates, bought seeds to raise seedlings, and when I grew up, I found that they were all sand dates in Xinjiang, which was not very suitable for the environment of Alxa." This time we saw tall and thin Xinjiang sand jujubes growing in the woodland, most of which had died. Mongolian sand dates are shorter and grow well.
However, the seeds of the sand jujube on the market are not classified, and it is only after several years of sowing and seedlings that you can tell what kind of sand jujube it is. In fact, there are basically only Xinjiang sand dates, and this mistake is several years. Wu Xiangrong decided to collect his own seeds and raise his own seedlings, and last year collected a lot of flower sticks and jujube seeds in the woodland of the project, and now the nursery field is green.
The flowers of the sand jujube are very small and tiny
It loves flowers and is found on many jujube trees during the flowering period
And often flocks of people come, eating flowers quickly
Fortunately, there are many birds in the woodland, and there are nemesis
The fruit of the sand-turned-jujube
Another reason I like sand dates is the appearance of the fruit
The underground stems of the sandy jujube can grow new seedlings when they expand in the sand
New plants can also grow in the sand by pressing the branches
Even if the Mongolian sand jujube is the dominant tree species in the woodland at the edge of this desert, it can not only be planted with sand jujube, its good growth is inseparable from the woodland foundation established by the flower stick, although the performance of the shuttle is general, but it is also needed, the shuttle can also parasitize cistanche. Sand prevention is not as simple as building a wall to block the desert, this is just a foundation, the locked edge forest wants a benign ecology, that is, biodiversity, flowers, trees, insects, birds and beasts, and finally left people, can naturally maintain this ecology.
Heavenly fairy, the flowers bloom very beautifully
We speculate that it should be from Helan Mountain
Rain brings seeds over, or birds
In the woodland, there are many mouse holes and rabbit holes, and the staff who often patrol the woodland say that there are many foxes, so don't worry. Once, in a small piece of Mongolian almond woodland, talking about the use of almonds, suddenly a fox jumped out, and the yellow sand rolled away, a rare black fox.
Finally, take a look at the picture below, taken standing on a sand dune on the edge of the desert.
In the far left front is the Tengger Desert, which gradually transitions to the right, and on the far right is the locked edge forest, with flower sticks, sand dates, as well as shuttles, sand blue thorn heads, fin thistles, sand artemisia, sand onions, sha peng, altai dog flower, grass king, white thorn, camel peng, sand holly, bitter bean, alfalfa, solitary vegetables... And so on, more than a hundred kinds of plants, in the distance is the Helan Mountain.
