Police in Kent, England, said David Fuller pleaded guilty to murdering Wendy Knell, 25, and Caroline Pierce, 20, in two attacks. In addition, it was learned in court trials that Fuller had sexually abused the bodies of women in the morgue while working at the local hospital.

Police have identified at least 99 potential victims involved, the case is considered the "most serious" necrophilia case in Uk law history.

The Guardian noted that prior to The Fuller's murder trial, he pleaded guilty to 51 other counts, 44 of which were related to 78 victims who were assaulted in the morgue after their deaths. Fuller was an electrician who could reach out to these victims through his work. It is believed that the violations of the bodies all occurred between 2008 and November 2020.

In an investigation into the murder of two women, Nair and Pierce, decades ago, the latest DNA evidence suggests that Fuller was linked to their deaths. Fuller was arrested for murder on December 3 last year, and police searched his home. During the search, police found 4 million images of sexual abuse. Most of them were downloaded online, but Fuller also recorded videos of himself torturing corpses.

The Royal Prosecution Service (CPS) said Fuller's necrophilia case was unprecedented in British legal history: "After Fuller's arrest, hidden hard drives were found during a search of his home, revealing a large body of evidence of sexual assault that had never been seen before in a British court." "Between 2008 and 2020, Fuller filmed his own sexual abuse of dozens of female bodies in morgues at two hospitals, where he was able to enter through his work as a maintenance supervisor." ”

Home Secretary Patel said she hoped the victims' families "would get some comfort in seeing justice finally done". Describing the case as shocking, she added: "It is understandable that the disgusting nature of these crimes will cause public disgust and concern." ”

British prosecutor Libby Clark said: "This extremely dangerous man has caused unimaginable pain to countless families, and he only confesses his long-standing secrets when confronted with conclusive evidence. I have no doubt that without this painstaking investigation and prosecution, he would still have broken the law to this day. ”

Health Secretary Javid said the NHS had sent a letter to all health trusts requesting a review of funeral lanes and autopsies. Fuller's agency has also begun an independent review and has sought advice from britain's human tissue authority on whether it needs to change the rules.
