Steve McQueen
McQueen was behind the anthology of feature films produced for the BBC, dramatizing events in modern Black History in Britain and directing two of the films: "The Mangrove," which tells the story of the 1970 trial of nine radicals in the Mangrove Forest, and "Lover's Stone," which tells the romantic story of an early 1980s party at a bluespoon party. Both of McQueen's films were shortlisted for the Cannes Film Festival.
Barry Jenkins
Jenkins' latest project is an 11-episode drama adaptation of Colson Whitehead's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel that reimagines a network of slaves on plantations in the southern United States as a true underground train service. Thuso Mbedu starred alongside Aaron Pierre and Joel Edgerton.
