Since its inception in 2014, the Wuhan Open has attracted the world's top female professional tennis stars every year, and there are many amazing and wonderful matches every year. Every Time since 2014, I have interviewed and filmed at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center, and the match between Peng Shuai and Kvitova in 2017 is still unforgettable.

On September 25, 2017, the second matchday of the Wuhan Tennis Tournament, the match between China's Jinhua Peng Shuai and Grand Slam champion and Czech celebrity Kvitova was scheduled to be played on the last match of the night on Central Court. Due to the more stale game in the front, the opening match between Peng Shuai and Kvitova was already after 21:00 on the same day.

I remember very clearly, because this was the focus of the day, there were many media personnel interviewing and shooting on the spot, and there were still many tennis fans in the stands watching. Peng Shuai had a good season, approaching the top 20 in the world rankings, but she had lost all seven games against Kvitova before that. Therefore, at that time, everyone thought that this game would be more intense, but no one would think that it was a tough and ultra-long war of attrition.

Not only did the two sides play three sets, but the three sets were won and lost after a grueling "seven-game battle", and the total time of the game reached a surprising 3 hours and 34 minutes. During the game, Kvitova called two medical suspensions due to physical overdrafts. At the moment when Peng Shuai finally won, both of them were almost exhausted and almost collapsed.

Peng Shuai and Kvitova played the field, but the media personnel and fans in the stands who shot on the spot were enthusiastic, and several of my shooting colleagues around me kept sighing: It's really fun! "We all had a lot of great moments.

That game was the longest-running WTA that year, and later became one of the WTA's annual classics.

The 2019 Wu Tennis Championships will be played at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center from September 20 to 28, and we look forward to enjoying such a classic game again.
