Xinjiang Morning News (text/reporter Zhao Meitu/Jia Xiansheng video/rock lizard) seeing that people are not only not afraid, but also run to the shadow of people to cool off, stretch out their hands to summon, it also dares to climb into people's hands and look curiously. On May 27, Xinjiang wildlife conservation volunteers found this bold and cute little animal in the desert around Wushi, "The first time I saw a wild animal so unrecognizable, seeing people was like seeing its friends." Volunteer Rock Lizard quipped.

According to the rock lizard, on the same day, the small animal that their group saw in the desert area around Wushi was actually a breed of sand lizard lizard in the desert of Xinjiang, "most of the members of the lizard family are timid and sensitive, and at a distance of seven or eight meters from people, they will quickly avoid fleeing", however, this sand lizard is unique among the family members, "Seeing us is not afraid at all, just watching from less than 1 meter away from us." Rock lizard said that maybe the temperature was too high that day, the ground was a little hot, he found that the little guy stood nearby and kept lifting his hind legs, and when he found that there was a shade (shadow) next to the volunteer, he ran to the volunteer with a small tail to cool off.

Seeing that the little guy came to his feet, the rock lizard tried to crouch down and reach out to touch it, but he didn't expect it to hide and shake its little head to stare at him curiously, he reached out to summon it, and the little guy actually climbed down his finger to his hand.

It is understood that the sand lizards in Xinjiang have different reproductive methods according to their habitat, one is oviparous, and the other is oviparous. The sand lizards that the volunteers encountered around Wushi this time will lay their eggs in the wet, cool sand soil and let them develop and hatch into small sand lizards on their own. Sand lizards living at high altitudes usually breed in the form of oviparous births, such as the sand lizards distributed on Mount Argin, which allow the eggs to develop into juvenile lizards in the mother's belly before laying them. The sand lizard is the most abundant member of the lizard family, their tail is slightly longer than other lizards, often upright or rolled up, sometimes slightly or violently swinging, in fact, its capuchin and tail swing is to convey information to the outside world, sometimes it is a sign of courtship, sometimes it is a signal of rejection or warning.
