Selling a five- or six-square-meter Afghan handmade wool carpet can secure the lives of an ordinary family in a war-torn country for nearly a year. With such hopes and confidence in the Chinese market, Ali once again came to Shanghai this year to participate in the Expo.
Under the background of the global COVID-19 epidemic and the difficult recovery of the world economy, China held the fourth CIIE as scheduled under the premise of ensuring the safety of epidemic prevention, which not only showed the world the strong resilience of China's economy, but also provided an excellent platform for many foreign merchants like Ali to explore and deepen their cultivation in China and the broader international market. Sean Doherty, head of the World Economic Forum's International Trade and Investment Department, said China was working to promote trade balance, as exemplified by the China International Import Expo.
