National Immigration Administration: Carry out special rectification of "smuggling belt" personnel in border areas

On November 5, the National Immigration Administration held a press conference to report on the detection of exceptionally serious cases in the special struggle to crack down on crimes that hinder the management of national (border) borders.

Liu Haitao, director of the Department of Border Inspection and Management of the National Immigration Administration, said at the press conference that since the Ministry of Public Security deployed a special struggle to concentrate on cracking down on crimes obstructing national (border) border management in December last year, a total of 14,973 criminal cases of crimes obstructing national (border) border management have been investigated and handled nationwide, a total of 35,777 criminal suspects have been arrested, and 36,921 smugglers have been seized, which are 2.2 times, 2.7 times and 3.3 times that of the same period last year, all of which exceed the combined crackdowns in 2019 and 2020 A total of 523 criminal gangs were destroyed, 167 transit dens were destroyed, 1549 vehicles (boats) were seized, and 514 intermediary agencies and illegal employment enterprises were investigated and punished.

Liu Haitao is currently focusing on the following tasks: First, we are making every effort to investigate and handle 105 major cases listed and supervised by the State Immigration Administration, strengthen coordination and cooperation between police departments, integrate investigation resources, continue to crack down hard, severely punish the organizations, commanders, planners, and backbone elements of illegal and criminal smuggling in accordance with the law, and resolutely cut off the smuggling channels at home and abroad.

The second is to deploy and carry out a concentrated pursuit of important criminal suspects who are still at large for crimes that obstruct the management of national (border) borders, and to carry out a centralized pursuit of a number of gang leaders, behind-the-scenes organizers, transporters, and backbone elements at home and abroad who are at large. Since 29 September, 36 targeted fugitives have been successfully captured, including 11 wanted fugitives of Class A and B, 4 fugitives from overseas targets, and 21 domestic target fugitives.

The third is to carry out in-depth rectification and cleansing up the source. Carry out special rectification of "smuggling belt" personnel in border areas, dynamically track and control them; strengthen governance at the source, screen and warn key personnel going to land borders and coastal areas, and persuade them to return, and make every effort to intercept and stabilize and control those who attempt to smuggle out of the country; and include the prevention and crackdown on crimes that hinder national (border) border management into the safety construction of various localities and the evaluation of social governance in the city, forming a work pattern of mass management and mass governance, collective wisdom and collective efforts, multi-departmental linkage, and participation of the whole society.

Liu Haitao reminded the broad masses of the people to strengthen their precautions, heighten their vigilance, and not to be deceived by false advertisements on the Internet and the lies of overseas gambling and fraud gangs and illegally leave the country.
