Hengshan Mountain, named "Taiheng Mountain", was called Xuanwu Mountain, Kun Mountain in ancient times, the northern yue of the "Five Mountains", a national 4a-level scenic spot, and one of the birthplaces of Taoism.
The bare cliffs of Hengshan Mountain are Cambrian Ordovician limestones dating back 500 million years.

Hengshan's peak tourist season is from April 1 of that year to October 31 of that year, and the low season is from November 1 of that year to March of the following year.
Hengshan, one of the five peaks, has the following important attractions:
1. Hanging Temple
At the foot of Hengshan Mountain, there is a hanging temple, built in 491 AD, which is a unique temple that combines the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.
In the distance, a large piece of the cliff protruded, like a half-open umbrella, shielding the Hanging Temple from the wind and rain.
The highest point of the Hanging Temple, 90 meters above the ground, is equivalent to the height of the current building 30 floors.
The wooden hanging temple, after more than 1500 years of wind and rain, still stands, in addition to each supporting horizontal wood, anchored into the cliff wall, but also because of the use of hemlock wood.
Zhao Sijing, a member of the Beijing Folk Artists Association, once explained that the wood of the Hanging Temple is locally produced hemlock wood, which is very suitable for buildings, shipbuilding and vehicles. Moreover, hemlock wood is also soaked with tung oil, which can prevent insects and corrosion.
Hanging Temple, a courtyard and two floors layout, a total length of about 32 meters, 40 pavilions and halls.
1) South Building
The south building, three stories high, has the Pure Yang Palace, the Three Officials Hall, the Three Holy Halls and the Lei Yin Hall.
Lei Yin Hall is a Buddhist temple.
2) North Building
The north building is three stories high, about 7 meters long and about 4 meters wide, and is divided into the Hall of the Five Buddhas, the Hall of Guanyin, and the Hall of the Three Religions.
The Three Sect Halls are located on the uppermost level of the Hanging Temple. Three religious leaders are enshrined, with Shakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, in the middle, Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, on the left, and Laozi, the founder of Taoism, on the right. The three religions are offered in one hall, which is extremely rare in temple architecture throughout the country.
3) Long-line bridge
The Long Line Bridge is located between the South and North Buildings.
2. GuolaoLing (one of the Eighteen Scenic Spots of Hengshan Mountain)
Guo Lao Ling, according to legend, is one of the Eight Immortals Zhang Guo Lao, who rode a donkey to and fro the place.
1) Tiger mouth suspension pine
Tiger wind outlet, a pine tree with exposed roots, attracts tourists to take pictures.
Legend has it that when Zhang Guolao was practicing in Hengshan Mountain, he often tied a donkey to this pine tree.
One day, a white tiger came, and when the donkey fought with the white tiger, he inadvertently pulled out some of the pine roots, so there was an allusion to the "tiger's mouth hanging pine".
2) Fruit old fairy signs
Passing through the hanging root pine and further north, tourists must pay attention to the ground, those oval pits that are shaped like donkey hoof prints, which are said to be the hoof prints left by Zhang Guo's old donkey.
3. Sacrifice yourself to the cliff
The Cliff, also known as the Cliff Crying Bird, is located at the steepest point of Sunset Ridge.
Legend has it that the sister-in-law originally wanted to fight for marriage autonomy, and on the way to escape from marriage, she was chased by her family and forced to jump off a cliff and die. The sister-in-law, worried about the safety of her sister-in-law, chased her out and accidentally fell off a cliff and died.
Later, the sister-in-law turned into a lark, and the sister-in-law turned into a bird looking for a lark. The two birds often fly on the edge of the cliff, and they are still nostalgic for the beauty of the world!
4. Flying Grotto
On the cliff of Feishi Peak, there is a natural cave, and according to legend, there was originally a rock engraved with the word "Hengshan". And in Hebei, there is a filial Piety Xiucai, because he sought medicine in Hengshan to cure his mother's illness, in order to repay the wish, Xiucai prepared to kowtow step by step from Quyang County, Hebei province to Hengshan.
The god of Beiyue was touched by his filial piety and threw the boulder engraved with "Hengshan Mountain" to Quyang County, Hebei Province.
There is another version, it is said that Emperor Shun wanted to go to Beiyue to sacrifice, just arrived in quyang county, Hebei Province, heavy snow blocked the road, Emperor Shun planned to sacrifice North Yue Hengshan, did not want to carve "Hengshan Mountain" boulders to take the initiative to fly to Quyang County, Hebei Province.
No matter which version, this spirit stone flew away anyway, and flew to Quyang County, Hebei Province, leaving Hengshan with a grotto. Therefore, people built the main hall of Beiyue in the Flying Grottoes.
The Main Hall of Beiyue is the oldest building in Hengshan.
5. Beiyue Temple
Beiyue Temple is the main temple of Hengshan Mountain, located on the southern slope of TianfengLing, leaning against the cliff and facing the deep valley, it was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty and rebuilt by the Tang, Jin and Yuan Dynasties.
6. Hengzong Hall
From the Chongling Gate of Beiyue Temple, after 103 stone steps, you will reach the Hengzong Hall. Although this stone staircase is not long, it requires both hands and feet to climb it. Therefore, it is called "steep as a ladder".
The Hall of Hengzong, also known as the Zhenyuan Hall, is dedicated to Emperor Beiyue.
Above the shrine seat of the Hengzong Temple, hangs a plaque of the Kangxi Imperial Book" that reads"
In front of the Hengzong Hall, there is an iron cast cloud plaque of the Yuan Dynasty, and there are dozens of stone tablets outside the hall.
7. Huixian House
Huixian Mansion, located in the northwest of Hengzong Hall, is built on a cliff in the "Jixian Cave".
In the middle of the Hall of HuixianFu, there is an enshrinement of Emperor Beiyue.
The back row of the HuixianFu Main Hall is dedicated to Fu, Lu and Shou Sanxingjun, and the east and west sides are the upper eight immortals, the middle eight immortals, and the lower eight immortals.
Among the five mountains, Huashan Danger, Taishan Xiong, Hengshan Xiu, Songshan Jun, Hengshan Qi.
When I arrived at Hengshan, it was amazing, there were so many! In addition to the pine trees with exposed roots, in addition to the 500 million-year-old rocks, there is also the temple Taoist Temple, which should be built halfway up the mountain near the cliff.
Looking at Hengshan Mountain, it is sighing: The road of cultivating immortals is not easy!
