It is reported that the special action focuses on 6 tasks, such as cleaning and dredging of water grates, updating and transforming water grates, comprehensively strengthening the control of drainage sources, strengthening urban environmental sanitation governance, and carrying out septic tank investigation and rectification.
At the same time, it is divided into designated residents' living agglomeration areas; along Binjiang Road, along the main urban roads; around markets, hospitals, and schools; and window areas such as core business districts, square parks, traffic nodes, and historical and cultural blocks as key improvement areas.

In terms of odor point remediation, in view of the problem of sewage overflow in Muyushi Lake in Yubei District, which the public strongly complained about, the relevant departments in Yubei implemented the leakage sewage interception and discharge project to solve the problem of odor disturbance caused by leakage sewage; in terms of the renewal and transformation of water grates, Yuzhong District improved the original duck-billed anti-odorous water grates and made a new type of closed anti-odor water grate sleeve to effectively solve the odor dispersion and drainage and flood prevention. At present, Yuzhong District has installed a total of 213 sets of closed anti-odor water grate sets within the jurisdiction.
The Chongqing Municipal Housing and Construction Commission said that it will continue to promote the investigation and rectification of odors, and gradually expand the scope of work to the entire area of the central urban area.
