On this night, the wife was about to be in the basin, and the husband was in his dream, and he heard the sound of a guiding cry in the air, only to see a man holding an iron bowl, coming from the clouds and the moon, accompanied by twelve shadows, and then a burst of frankincense struck, and he heard a baby crying in the next room, and the wife gave birth to a boy. Therefore, when the child was born, his father dreamed of a person holding an iron bowl, as if he were reincarnated by a person with a path, so he took his name as the Dream Buddha. At the age of eighteen, Mengfo's parents died one after another, because the family was poor and lonely, and through the entrustment of the clan, he came to Fuzhou Taozhi Mountain to become an apprentice. Although Chen Mengfo became a monk, he still had not shaved his head and entered the Buddhist gate. While sweeping the floor of the monastery, collecting firewood and other chores, he pondered and studied the Buddhist scriptures, the Six Classics, and the words of Zhuang Lao and other hundreds of families. In this year, he returned from Fuzhou to visit the villagers, passing through the Nine Carp Lake, so he stayed there and consulted the Immortal Gong on some unknown things in the Buddhist path. > that night, in a dream, Chen Meng buddha saw an old man sitting in the hall, knowing that it was the Immortal Gong, he respectfully went forward to look up, and then asked: "What is the difference between the Buddha and the Tao, and whether I will want to go from the Buddha or cultivate the Tao in the future?" Xian Gong replied, "Buddha is the way to destroy evil, and Tao is the art of goodness, and this is the difference between the two." However, breaking the evil warning world and reviving the good and knowing the essence are all aimed at cultivating the good people's hearts and achieving the purpose of purifying all sentient beings and saving the world, which is the same purpose of the two. From the Buddha or the monastic path, it does not matter if you go from the same path to the same destination. Chen Mengfo listened to Xian Gong's immortal words, and the doubts that had accumulated in his heart for many years were immediately released. > chen Mengfo returned to Taozhi Mountain, and was shaved by the Ruyi Zen master, with the title of "Zhiguang", and since then he has studied deeply, attained Buddhahood, and his Path has become more and more profound. Soon after, he was ordered to take the vows at the Songshan Shaolin Temple. > Chen Zhiguang set out from Fuzhou, passed through Shaowu, crossed the Poyang Lake in Jiangxi To board a boat, went to Wuchang, and came to Ezhou, Hubei Province, where he first went to visit the supervisor Zen Master. When the supervisor asked him the essence of Buddhism, Chen Zhiguang replied: "If it is not east or west, it is buddha bodhi; if it is not up and down, the true Buddha is not false." After listening, the inspector admired his ability to grasp all the essence of the Dharma and praised: "The Dharma province is all in Ruyi." > Chen Zhiguang continued north from Ezhou to Xiangfan, via Nanyang, through Luoshui, to Zhengzhou, and finally to Songshan. After fifteen years of morning bell and twilight drumming and unswerving practice, Bowl inherited the Zen Buddhism of the Shaolin Temple, and returned directly to Xianyou, where he wanted to open the ancestral sect and open the Buddhist Gate. He went to various places in Xianyou, even Putian and other places, and carefully chose the mountain to seek to build a treasure land. He first chose in the north of Xianyou City, The Lingshan Mountain in the east of the city, and the Jinsha in the west of the city, which was not satisfactory, and then went to the southern suburbs of Yunding Mountain and Putian Nanshan to choose again, or it was not ideal. > Chen Zhiguang couldn't choose a place everywhere, and when he was anxious, he suddenly remembered that the Nine Carp Lake Immortal Gong was nearby, so why not ask for advice again on the matter of choosing a place. To this end, he went to the Nine Carp Lake and prayed to the Immortal Gong for guidance on the treasure land. That night, Xian Gong said, "The phoenix came to the birthplace of yi." > Chen Zhiguang remembered the guidance of the Immortal Gong and continued to search for the treasure land in the northwest direction. This day came to Fengshan, climbed the heights to take a look, and immediately rejoiced him. Originally, there were nine peaks around the place, which coincided with the nine-petaled lotus topography of Shaomu Mountain, where the Shaolin Temple is located. And the two mountains here are like phoenix amphibians, which is exactly what Xian Gong said about the state of "phoenix coming to Yi", which is the place of origin. Therefore, Chen Zhiguang chose the temple site on the crown of the male phoenix. In order to meet the meaning of the lotus petals, he built the temple into a temple with nine connected buildings, so it was called "nine temples". Because the temple is on the crown of the phoenix, the name of the place here is "Phoenix Peak". > Chen Zhiguang, in order to retain the auspicious atmosphere of this place and not let the two phoenixes separate, specially built another tower on the crown of the female phoenix, which is the "dustless tower". > Chen Zhiguang was credited with the creation of nine temples and the southern broadcast of Shaolin Zen Buddhism, and after his death, in the second year of Tang Guangqi, the imperial court named him "Zen Master of Zhengjue".
