The "Guo Liang Community" in Yueyang Lou District was named after Guo Liang, the early proletarian revolutionary of our party and the famous leader of the workers' movement.

Located in the Guo Liang community on the shore of Dongting Lake, the red culture atmosphere is rich, and the deeds of Guo Liang martyrs can be seen everywhere, and the exhibition hall, cultural wall and exhibition room have attracted many visitors who have come to visit.

This is a poem written by 15-year-old Guo Liang with great sorrow and indignation after seeing the enemy brutally killing the revolutionaries. It was then that the seeds of revolution took root and sprouted in the heart of the young Guo Liang.

In 1920, after Guo Liang was admitted to the Hunan First Normal School, under the influence of Mao Zedong, he joined the Xinmin Society and the Marxist Research Society.

In the winter of 1921, he joined the Communist Party of China through the introduction of Mao Zedong and became one of the earliest members of the Communist Party of China in Hunan.

In May 1922, the Xiang District Executive Committee of the Communist Party of China was established. Guo Liang came to Yuezhou Station to carry out the railway workers' movement and established the Yuezhou Workers' Club of the Guangdong-Han Railway. In September, in protest against the abuse of workers by the railway authorities, he took the lead in laying down the rails and launched a general strike on the Cantonese-Han railway that shook the country.

In May 1927, Guo Liang was elected as an alternate member of the Central Committee at the Fifth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in August, Guo Liang participated in the Nanchang Uprising, and in January 1928, he was appointed secretary of the Xiang'e-Ganbian Special Committee of the Communist Party of China, stationed in Yueyang to organize the workers' and peasants' movement.

After coming to Yue, Guo Liang rented a house in the Luojia Attic on Hanlin Street, and under the pseudonym "Li Cai", opened a "Li Ji Coal Stack" and a restaurant in Jiehekou and Pengchang Street respectively, as a contact point for special committee organs and an underground secret traffic station.

Explainer Yang Xiaoyu: Guo Liang gathered the brothers of workers in yueyang to carry out study and speech activities. The tiles on the roof of his rented houses could be moved, and if the enemy came to search, it was convenient to enter and exit at any time, which was equivalent to carrying a head to dry revolution.

Thanks to Guo Liang's efforts, the party organization on the border of the three provinces of Xiang'e, E, and Gansu was quickly restored, and just when the revolutionary situation was just getting better, on March 27, 1928, Guo Liang was arrested for informing traitors.

On March 29, 1928, at the age of 27, Guo Liang left this suicide note and was killed at the gate of Changsha Division. After Guo Liang's death, Mao Zedong called him "a famous organizer of the workers' movement."

The cave garden is yangbo, and the pine is not old. In the more than 90 years after Guo Liang's sacrifice, the people of Yueyang have followed the footsteps of heroes, adhered to the legacy of martyrs, inherited the red gene, and continuously improved the happiness index of residents. Here, there are "five old volunteers" composed of veteran cadres and other harmonious propaganda teams, unremittingly educating the people around them with the things around them; and the "Xiyichun" art volunteer team composed of literary and artistic backbones, using the self-created "Ode to Guo Liang" to spread heroic deeds and spread red culture.
