At that time, it will take only about 90 minutes to depart from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport Expressway South Line to Yibin.
Chengyi Expressway starts from the Qingfeng Hub of the Jianpu Section of Chengdu 'Three Rings' (Chengdu Economic Zone Ring Expressway), docks with the South Line of Chengdu Tianfu International Airport Expressway, passes through Chengdu East New District, Jianyang City, Meishan Renshou County, Neijiang Weiyuan County, Zigong Rong County, Yibin Xuzhou District, Cuiping District, and ends at the Leyi Expressway Zhongfeng Temple Hub, docking the western section of Yibin City Transit Expressway.

The project is invested and constructed by Sichuan Tietou Group, with a total investment of 24.6 billion yuan and a total length of about 157 kilometers. The design speed of the whole line is 120 kilometers per hour, and the two-way six-lane construction is one of the highway projects with the highest design standards in Sichuan Province. A total of 157 bridges, 4 tunnels and 17 interchanges are set up on the whole line.
Chen Jian, a researcher at the Yibin Municipal Transportation Bureau, said that after the Chengyi Expressway is opened to traffic, starting from the third ring road of Chengdu to Yibin via the Chengyi Expressway, it will save at least 1 hour of travel compared with other channels. At the same time, as the most convenient channel connecting the Chengdu Plain Economic Zone and the South Sichuan Economic Zone, the Chengyi Expressway quickly connects Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and the Yangtze River Yibin Port, which is a "port and shipping channel" and plays a huge role in economic support.
Chen Guangjun, assistant general manager of Sichuan Tietou Group and chairman of Chengyi Company, introduced that the Chengyi Expressway project has been included in the pilot project of "Transportation Power" in Sichuan Province, and will be built into Yiyi Digital Expressway in stages (3-5 years). The first part is "automatic driving", which lays out 10 kilometers of "automatic driving" infrastructure in the early stage to achieve the L3.5 level automatic driving standard; the second part is "vehicle-road coordination", which builds a perfect intelligent perception system of the highway network to realize the functions of artificial intelligence video analysis, prediction, alarm and other functions in the whole section of the road, and improves the operation capacity of the expressway; the third part is "smart high-speed", based on the construction of digital new infrastructure, Chengyi Expressway will achieve 5G coverage of the whole road section, for "digital transportation" Information transmission provides more convenient and efficient service support. The reporter learned that the Chengyi Expressway is an important part of the layout of the "two corridors and four passages" of the Sichuan Southbound Expressway, the most convenient contact channel between the Chengdu Plain Economic Zone and the South Sichuan Economic Zone, and the straightest and shortest expressway passage from Chengdu to the south. At the same time, the Chengyi Expressway, as a common section of the Sichuan Southbound Open Sichuan-Yunnan Corridor and the Sichuan-Guizhou-Guangdong Corridor, will further enhance the capacity of Sichuan's southbound open passage.
