Born in 1948, a native of Xiangtan, Hunan, his ancestral home is Baiguo, Hengshan.
He studied under Li Li, Li Zetai and Liu Wei of Changsha. He is currently a member of the Chinese Book Association, the Hunan Provincial Book Association, the Hunan Provincial Beauty Association, the Tutor of the Hunan Provincial Book Court, and the archival figure of the Hunan Provincial Archives "Hunan Famous Literary and Artistic Archives". He once served as the executive director of the Hunan Provincial Book Association, the director of the Seal Engraving Creation Committee, the second and third chairman of the Xiangtan Book Association, and the executive deputy director and legal representative of the Xiangtan Qi Baishi Memorial Hall. In 2008, it was awarded the "2006-2007 Xiangtan Literary and Art Career Honor Award" by the Xiangtan Municipal Party Committee and the Xiangtan Municipal Government. In September 2016, he was awarded the title of "Cultural Celebrity of Xiangtan City" by Xiangtan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
Calligraphy and seal engraving works participated in the first national calligraphy and seal engraving exhibition, the second national young and middle-aged calligraphy and seal engraving exhibition, the first national seal engraving exhibition, Henan International Calligraphy Exhibition, etc. The thesis "The Development of Qi Baishi Seal Carving Art Stage" won the Excellence Award of the First National Seal Engraving Art Seminar sponsored by the China Book Association.

It seems that the appearance and depth of human beings cannot be discussed only in terms of time. The heart is not in harmony, the opposite is not recognized; the heart is in harmony, and it is the same at first sight. I belong to the latter with the calligraphy seal engraver Huang Sumin. In the mid-1990s, I was commissioned to compile the "Xiangtan City Chronicle and Culture", and after being strongly recommended by a friend in Daozhong, I asked Su Min to write a golden banner to include in the book. After following one or two, I gradually became familiar with him.
Su Min was a talkative man and felt like a burning flame. In his place, there is no need to search for fun, it is easy to find, and all interesting things, indignant, reasonable people, when he says it, it is full of interest. His words are sharp and free, and his broad vision makes his concepts not pedantic, coupled with frank talk, it is really a mouthful, trivial matters are all tongue springs, Guan'er has it, it is painful, the truth is hidden in it, and the wisdom is precipitated. It is obviously a bit far-fetched to attach him to a celebrity, and it seems that it is impossible to simply define it with the word "talent". Although there is his soft intestines, he only occasionally sees a little pear snow peach Xia, more or more needles to the blood, and even aggressively does not leave a little affection. He only knows the wind in everything, and only knows the scrolls and the ink that he loves all his life. It is also due to temperament, or it is thought that it is better to make some sharp and moldy sounds, it is not as good as the fish and fish spitting out in the throat is the truth. However, his heart, still in the literati, revealed the uninhibited spirit of a scholar in his bones, and he could never be withdrawn, and the friends who knew him would not do too much to calculate.
After reading several articles by Su Min, I am not dull, not stiff, and I am strict and elegant. See his in-depth excavation and deep understanding of traditional culture, the exploration and in-depth exploration of the art of calligraphy and seal engraving, and his extraordinary literacy and insight. He has his own cultural ideals and artistic ideas, trying to combine the realm of traditional Chinese culture and traditional art, and express them in a traditional way. He knows the choice, knows the trade-offs, knows which direction to work in, which is also the embodiment of his deep consciousness. For him, experience and experience are in harmony, aura and bone are in harmony, and the handwriting flowing out of his hands calmly flows into a gentle and warm milky way, never letting go of any section of the river. Reading Su Min's works, whether it is his calligraphy or seal engraving, my feeling is that he is disciplined and not bound, knowledgeable and single-minded, coupled with his heart, liver, and guts, and the indulgence of the instrument, so what he writes and what he carves is radiant. I have not seen his Kai and Li, but his cursive writing, handsome and handsome, free to walk; Jin Wen oracle bones, elegant Wei Xiu, beautiful and cool. From this, I thought that in Su Min's disposition, there is a stubborn side, there is also a comfortable side, there is a connotation side, there is also an opening side, both humble and gentlemanly, but also sharp, in the Xiangtan calligraphy circle, should be one of the people with great book affinity.

Speaking of which, I have known friends in the Xiangtan calligraphy community for many years, and so far I have not seen a calligraphy seal engraver who has not seen a book and an exhibition, only Su Min. I thought, I'm afraid this is also due to instinct. The problem of calligraphy seal engraving is quickly full of enthusiasm, avoiding the truth, at least he can make a snow chain to prevent me from slipping in the understanding of calligraphy seal engraving.
