Throughout his life, Li Bai traveled all over China's famous mountains and rivers, leaving traces of his poetry everywhere, "Wangtianmen Mountain", which Li Bai composed at the beginning of the spring and summer of the thirteenth year of Tang Xuanzong's reign (725).
Li Bai, who had just stepped out of the bamboo sea of Bashu, was only twenty-five years old, which was the age of prosperity. At this time, Li Bai had already read through the books of a hundred families, learned some sword skills from his teacher, and wrote poetry without an opponent, in this case, he did not "fight the sword to go to the country", went out to run around, how to be worthy of his "cultivation" for so many years. Fortunately, Li Bai's family was not short of money, and with enough silver, Li Bai waved his hand with his hometown and rode down the Yangtze River in a flat leaf boat to break into the world.
"Wangtianmen Mountain", a popular poem, was composed by Li Bai when he went down by boat and passed through Tianmen Mountain near Dangtu in Anhui Province. It is said that the reason why This Tianmen Mountain got its name is because on both sides of this Yangtze River waterway, there are two high mountains, the north of the river is called West Liang Mountain, the south of the river is called East Liang Mountain, and the two mountains face each other across the river, just like two naturally formed gates, so it is called "Tianmen". Tianmen you may not have been there, but read Li Bai's poem, your mind will immediately form a magnificent picture, "Tianmen interrupted the Opening of the Chu River, the blue water flowed east to this time", the mighty Yangtze River with a thunderous momentum, all the way through the Tianmen Mountain, rolling and rushing, giving people the feeling, just like this "Heavenly Gate" was originally closed, hard to let the Yangtze River huge divine power to rush open, this must be a spectacular momentum! The Chu River seemed to have become a thing with great vitality, showing the magical power to break all obstacles, and Tianmen Mountain seemed to silently make way for it!
Although the two stone gates were washed away by a waterway, because the two mountains were sandwiched, it was very narrow, and when the mighty Yangtze River flowed through this passage, it immediately stirred up a whirlpool, forming a choppy spectacle, just imagine how small and dangerous the boats passing through the rapids of the alpine canyon were! But don't worry, "the green mountains on both sides of the strait are opposite, and the lone sail is coming from the side of the sun", the poet said, down the Yangtze River, looking at the two mountains of Tianmen in the distance, pouring into the eyes, showing a clearer and clearer posture, and even when you can feel the embrace of the two mountains, the boat will also sail all the way, out of this narrow waterway, into a more open water.
What needs to be explained here is that the "lonely sail from the side of the sun" is not the "lonely" of "lonely", and "the sun comes" does not refer to the place where the sun rises. You know, at this time, Li Bai has just come out of Shu, is excited, and is full of dreams for the future, how can he feel lonely? In fact, Li Bai, who is familiar with traditional Chinese culture, has always had an idol to worship in his heart. It is said that yi yin, the famous minister of the Shang Dynasty, assisted several monarchs of the Shang Dynasty, laying a firm foundation for the Shang Dynasty to continue for more than 600 years, becoming the first famous sage in Chinese history. It is said that before Yi Yin saw Shang Tang, he once dreamed that he had taken a boat to the side of the sun and the moon. "Sun and moon" was often used as a metaphor for emperors in ancient times, so this dream can be seen as a sign of the encounter between kings and subjects. In "Wangtianmen Mountain", Li Bai used this allusion, and in the last sentence of the poem, he used "a lone sail to come from the side of the sun" to point out his life ambitions and political ideals: Although there are difficulties and obstacles, my talent is enough for me to resist the wind and waves, and I just want to take a flat boat, like Yi Yin, out of the "sun", and do a big cause through the heavens and the earth!
