Xiamen, 22 Oct (Xinhua) -- Responsible persons from many theaters and art groups on both sides of the Taiwan Strait held the "Cross-Strait Theater Management and Operation Exchange Dialogue" in Xiamen on 21 October, sharing experience in theater management and operation and creation, and discussing the current situation and future development trend of the theater industry on both sides of the strait.

"The development of the mainland is very fast, maybe in the past ten years, there will be hundreds of new venues out," Li Huimei, artistic director of Taiwan's two halls and courtyards, which enjoys a high reputation in Taiwan, said frankly, in contrast, after the two halls were built in 1987, there have been no new venues in the past 30 years.

In Li Huimei's view, the mainland's demand for literary and artistic performances and performance venues is "a mushrooming market", so she looks forward to more cooperation with theaters and theaters in the mainland, especially in Fujian, in the future.

She said that the two sides of the strait share the same language and have the same cultural background, and the Taiwan theater hopes to invite good programs from the mainland to Taiwan and share them with the public in Taiwan; and for Taiwan's excellent programs, even if they have been performed in Taiwan, "at most there are more than ten performances" and "that tempering is not enough", and they need to come to the mainland to accept another challenge. ”

Yang Zhongheng, artistic director of Taiwan Music Times Theater and executive director of the Guangyi Foundation, is optimistic about cross-strait cooperation in talent training. He shared the various art training and management courses carried out by Taiwan Guangyi Foundation and the mainland in recent years, saying that in the context of the "Belt and Road" era, cross-strait art practitioners should join forces to cultivate more talents, create more platforms, strengthen integration and communication, learn from each other's strong points, and make common progress. He said: The first cross-strait co-production original musical "Wei Xin," jointly produced by the Minnan Grand Theater and the Taiwan Music Times Theater, is a good attempt.

"Fujian Nanyin" is an outstanding representative of Chinese opera culture and has been included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Yang Shirley, director of the Xiamen South Orchestra, discussed with Taiwanese guests on the development of "Fujian South Sound". She said frankly that Nanyin has the responsibility of inheriting the excellent Chinese culture, and with the support of the government, the performance is currently mainly based on public welfare and benefiting the people, and the market-oriented operation needs to be strengthened.

Ms. Li Huimei "made a move" for Nanyin, suggesting that it could try the development route of "going out" and excavate the new functions of old art on the basis of trying to adhere to the core aesthetics and connotations of art. For example, she said, some Taiwanese Nanyin masters have perfectly integrated Nanyin with traditional Chinese culture such as guqin and tea ceremony, creating it as a way of life.

The current exchange and dialogue is one of the "highlights" of the cross-strait arts festival being held in Xiamen, and it also attracted Luo Yan, general manager of the Xiamen Cangjiang Theater and executive deputy general manager of the Minnan Grand Theater; Liu Rutao, deputy general manager of the Minnan Grand Theater; Huang Cong, deputy general manager of the Putian Putian Putian Grand Theater; Liu Jialiu, director of the Longyan Han Opera Transmission Center; Jia Zhaohui, vice president of the Xiamen Song and Dance Theater; Yang Xueli, director of the Xiamen Southern Orchestra; Lin Dehe, director of the Xiamen Gezai Opera Study Center; and Li Yuan, deputy general manager of the Xiamen Cangjiang Theater.
