The cross-strait family search service carried out by toutiao is committed to helping people on both sides of the taiwan strait realize their wishes for family search and reunion.
Jia Defa from Taiwan contacted the headline search through Taiwan's "True Morning News" and asked for help from the cross-strait family search project to find relatives in Hebei and Shandong.
The message sent by Judd is now sorted out as follows, and I hope that you will help forward it and help reunite relatives on both sides of the strait through the relay of love.
Name: JuddFa
Ancestral hometown: Gucheng County, Hengshui City, Hebei Province
Former residence: Qingdao City, Shandong Province
Mainland relatives information: Grandpa Jia Guilin, Grandma Ma Shi; Aunt name unknown
Taiwan family information: father Jia Hong'en, uncle Jia Hongsheng
Here are the stories of the search for relatives:
Juddfa is over 60 years old, and he is always particularly sentimental during the Qingming season every year. Because he has always had a wish, that is, he hopes to return to the mainland to reunite with his relatives. But over the years, he has also been on the road to find his roots.
Jia Defa's ancestral home is Gucheng County, Hengshui City, Hebei Province, and his grandfather Jia Guilin left his hometown when he was young to work in Qingdao, Shandong Province, and later married a wife and started a family in the local area. Jia Guilin's wife is surnamed Ma, and the couple has two sons and a daughter.
Jia Guilin died around 1947. Then, in 1949, two sons, Jia Hong'en (Jia Defa's father) and Jia Hongsheng, went to Taiwan, while his wife Ma stayed in Qingdao with her daughter, and the family separated the two sides of the taiwan strait.

A brief diagram of the Jia family's kinship
In the 1990s, the two sides of the strait were already open to visiting relatives. Jia Hong'en returned to Qingdao to learn that his sister and mother had long since died, but he had not found his sister's descendants in Qingdao. The brotherhood between the two sides of the strait was thus broken.
After Jia Hong'en's death, Jia Defa inherited his father's legacy and still remembered his roots and relatives.
Six years ago, Jia Defa was invited by the Hebei Hometown Association of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, to visit Hebei. But due to the tight schedule, he could not go to the old city, "If I can find the roots of our hometown, I will definitely take my family to recognize the ancestors and return to the ancestors, so that the descendants of Taiwan will not forget the roots." ”
