From the 2nd century BC to the 5th century BC, the Jiaohe Ancient City, founded and built by the Cheshi people, is the world's largest and oldest, best-preserved city of raw earth architecture, and the most complete urban relics preserved in China for more than 2,000 years, known as "the most perfect ruin in the world". The shape and layout of the whole city is similar to that of Chang'an City in the Tang Dynasty, which is the capital of cheshiqian state, one of the thirty-six cities of the ancient Western Regions. Most of the buildings, regardless of size, basically use the method of "reducing the ground and leaving the wall", and the walls of the monasteries, official offices, city gates, and houses dug down from the surface of the towering terrace are basically raw earth walls, and the whole city is like a huge ancient sculpture.

Although it is now the remains of an ancient city and the ruins of a city, the drought and lack of rain in the Turpan region have preserved the ancient city very well. It has great scientific value for the study of cultural exchanges between the East and the West, the history of the "Silk Road", the history of Central Asian civilization, and the architecture, religion and art of ancient Chinese cities. More than a decade ago, I had the opportunity to witness the beauty of the scene, and today I have compiled this set of old works to share with you.
