In the investigation of the case, the police found that the gang had a clear division of labor and was mainly divided into two groups. One group is the business group, which is responsible for helping people open cards, and the other group is the management group, which is responsible for purchasing other people's face information and voiceprint information.
After meticulous arrangements, the public security organs simultaneously launched arrest operations in Hefei, Anhui, and Qingdao, Shandong, and arrested all eight criminal suspects of this criminal gang.
In the end, the police searched 10 computers and 26 mobile phones from the crime dens, and in these computers involved in the case, a large amount of citizens' face data information was preserved.
The criminal suspect confessed that because the state regulates the use of mobile phone cards, all mobile phone cards need real-name authentication. Some criminals have a huge demand for mobile phone cards, and criminal suspects forge other people's face videos to pass registration certification. On the Internet, there are many people who specialize in selling these materials, and they are called "material merchants".
From the initial personal information leak, to being peddled online for a few dimes, to forging their faces for authentication, many victims know nothing about it. Nor can they believe that without their knowledge, others can brush their faces with just one photo.
The perpetrators confessed that the amount of business they undertook every day was very large, about 500 to 600 sheets. At the scene of the arrest, the police seized hundreds of mobile phone cards from the villa rented by the criminal suspect, and these mobile phone cards that crossed the sea and were successfully activated would become tools for other criminal acts once they flowed into the black market.
