On a slightly earlier hot summer night, BamBam | Allure Korea

Bam Bam, who remained in Seoul, is now going to sing his own songs. Summer is coming, and his heart won't cool down.

Allure Korea: 4 days ago was your birthday, does it give any special meaning to the day of birth?

BamBam: Even until the early days of his debut, it seemed like that. There was no good birthday at the time of the event, either on the plane or busy with work. Once it was like this, the birthday was May 2nd, May 1st took a plane, and when it arrived, it was May 3rd, and the birthday disappeared (laughs)

Allure Korea: How about self-isolation?

BamBam: Okay. I originally liked to stay at home, it was an otaku, and I seemed to enjoy it. Sleep when you want, get up when you think of it. Watch two or three movies a day, as if you've eaten everything that's taken out of the community. (Laughs) Think in the good.

Allure Korea: The quarantine ended successfully, and there should be a lot of backlog, right?

BamBam: Ah, I've been blowing up lately. (Laughs) There was a lot of work to be done, and the various shoots that had been planned had to be concentrated, and there was no time for rest.

Allure Korea: So it was shot at night, and the first picture of the pictorial shooting plan reads 'Alone in the hotel late at night', the hotel is a familiar place, right?

BamBam: It was like that for a while, but now I haven't been to the hotel in a long time. This time I had the feeling of going abroad, so I was very happy.

Allure Korea: I heard it's a Swiss Grand Hotel, which first opened in 1988. I heard that after coming here, it felt like a beautiful hotel in Bangkok that is big and old, very satisfied.

BamBam: But isn't this room a bit American? There is a small kitchen at the entrance which has a marvellous atmosphere.

Allure Korea: The hotel is such a place, a space for some stories. How does it feel?

BamBam: I love the hotel, my bedroom is like a hotel room. If you go to a hotel and find a very comfortable mattress, you buy a mattress exactly like that one. The hotel is always neatly packed, and if you have that kind of atmosphere at home, the mood will change.

Allure Korea: Do you have any special memories of hotels?

BamBam: Now that I think of a hotel in Sydney, I was impressed because the food delivery was really delicious. (Laughs) Seeing the Opera House in the suite felt like a dream. Make great memories of any hotel in Paris, with a football pitch in front and an Eiffel Tower in the back. You know how to push open the window like this? If you open the window, there is a small balcony, just like the building in the movie "Food Story".

Allure Korea: I've been to W Brisbane above Sydney on a business trip and have a dreaming feel when my suite overlooks the city.

BamBam: It's a little different from other hotels, right? Our home interior decoration reference is W Hotel. (Laughs) Modern style.

Allure Korea: You still love to laugh. In 2017, I met at the GOT7 Pictorial filming site, and although the atmosphere was chaotic, it was also a person laughing at the time.

BamBam: Laughing kindly in front of you, falling asleep in the car as soon as work is over, right? (Laughs) No matter how tired you are, you don't want to show it, because you don't work alone. There are so many staff gathered for me today, who would want to work with me if they showed a tired expression. I don't think that as an artist you should be treated specially or eat better, it is better for people who work together to eat delicious food together.

Allure Korea: Are Thais so smiling and kind? The same is true of Lisa at BLACKPINK, as well as the people I met on my trip to Bangkok.

BamBam: Culture seems to be like that, from a young age at home or at school, I have learned to care more about others than myself. This perception seems to be stronger.

Allure Korea: Do you like summer?

BamBam: It's my favorite season, especially the summer in Korea seems to be beautiful, probably because there are a lot of mountains, so it has a green image. I think summers in Korea are wetter than in Thailand. I love the taste of damp summer.

Allure Korea: People generally like the season of their birth, and surprisingly BAMBAM loves summer. Ah Thailand May is already summer, right?

BamBam: Haha. It seems so. I like the blue sky and green trees in summer, and although the sound is a bit noisy, I also like it.

Allure Korea: Do you have any memories of summer?

BamBam: Cold noodles. The noodles were also good. I like to eat smoothies outside, it's hot but I feel cool in my heart. When the trainees finished the dance, it was very hot, and the members and I went to the convenience store to buy ice cream to eat. This is also my memory.

Allure Korea: Not watermelon juice but cold noodles. I just heard that I want to eat crab with sauce, and I really became a Korean.

BamBam: I really enjoy eating cold noodles and vegetable wrapped meat together. It's really a delicious combination.

Allure Korea: In another 3 years, you'll be half in Thailand and half in Korea. How does it feel?

BamBam: Nothing special. Now I seem to be more familiar with Korea than Thailand, and so is the location. Takeaway or daily necessities, in Thailand is not well understood, Thai roads are also changing, do not remember how to take the subway. (Laughs) When I'm older and can't dance, I don't want to settle on one side and want to live back and forth on both sides.

Allure Korea: Don't you feel lonely or nervous at times?

BamBam: Not so clear. (Laughs) I shouldn't be such a sensitive person. Sometimes it's sad, sometimes it feels happy, but most of it is positive. This personality seems to be helpful for work as well. Take things as they come.

Allure Korea: Will the mood be different in Thailand and in Korea?

BamBam: Absolutely. No matter how popular it is, it is not the same. The difference is somewhat large.

Allure Korea: What kind of popularity?

BamBam: Well, what to say about that. What I said didn't seem to be very good. [Laughs]

Allure Korea: I've been to Bangkok before the pandemic, from Suvarnabhumi airport to the city, all kinds of electronic screens are your face, are you trying to say this?

BamBam: Haha yes, that's what I want to say. My popularity in Thailand and Korea is very different, and I want to balance it out

Allure Korea: Are you so strict with yourself? It is already famous in Korea.

BamBam: You can still walk around here. (Laughs) You can't do anything in Thailand, you can't get out of a hotel. Surrounded by fans, home can not go back. Really can't do anything. Occasionally there are "back to reality" times. Compared to saying goodbye to countless fans from thai airports, there are few people who arrive in South Korea. Those few days of staying in Thailand were like dreams and felt far away.

Allure Korea: Do you think it hasn't worked out in Korea yet?

BamBam: I know this, now that's all there is left. Although I started my activities in Korea, I don't seem to have received any recognition from this side. It has some popularity in Thailand or overseas. Overseas activities are also important, but I also want to be recognized here. This is the way to be at ease. If you want to concentrate on Korean activities for a period of time, you may have different results.

Allure Korea: Everybody else wants to go overseas, but you're the opposite.

BamBam: Yes. Now that I'm 25 years old, I can't just go back like that. Want to do it once, not enjoy it.

Allure Korea: It's a brave challenge.

BamBam: It's really a challenge, and it's a little bit dangerous. How to say it, both sides may miss the challenge. You know what I mean? It's an adventure.

Allure Korea: Would you have to do that even if you knew that?

BamBam: It seems interesting. (Laughs) If you don't do it now, it seems that you will regret it for the rest of your life.

Allure Korea: That's what you're going to do. Then again, there is one that must be asked. Where are your certified Thai restaurants in Seoul?

BamBam: So suddenly? The smorgasbord-like interview was really funny. It is a restaurant called ggapum. It's really like Thailand there.

Allure Korea: Sure enough. When working overtime, I will occasionally order to eat. What is BamBam's recommended menu?

BamBam: There's a pig's trotter lid poured rice called kkaukkamu, and this one is the best. There is also a one called ragengssep. Put the pork backbone pile high and eat the food with pepper and garlic. There I really certified. Lisa from BlACKPINK and Minnie from (G)I-DLE also loved it. I also have to go once a month.

Allure Korea: The 2017 interview revisited. Although there are other members, please share your self-composed "Remember You" story.

BamBam: That was my first self-composer. Got7's songs are mostly brisk. So I wanted to make a song that was also great to listen to while driving or at home.

Allure Korea: The songs written after that have similar traces. That's BamBam's music, right?

BamBam: Yes, but neither. It's not the same as the songs I'm making now. Now I'm going to look different. The real BamBam looks like.

Allure Korea: Eyes are glowing. Give us some tips.

BamBam: It's a little hard to say. Probably a little lighter. To what extent? (Laughs) If the song is released, please listen to it. Very subtle feeling. I did everything I wanted.

Allure Korea: What have you been listening to lately? What to see?

BamBam: I listen to a lot of broadcasts, American radio. Look for horror stories on YouTube to watch. I really like it. Sometimes it's inspiration to listen to weird talk about this.

Allure Korea: Even so, it's a bit picky when it comes to writing songs, right?

BamBam: Absolutely. Because I want to do it perfectly. It was also picky when cleaning at home. When mopping the floor with a mop. The mop dragged over the place to see, there is no dust. (Laughs) Whether it's hair, music, nails, or clothes, it's all.

Allure Korea: Still like Hedi Slimane?

BamBam: Like. Recently, there have also been some loose parts. It's not the clothes I'm wearing, it's focused on me first. Because the clothes are too conspicuous, people will see the clothes before anyone else.

Allure Korea: Looking at the air tonight, it feels like summer is coming again. How do you feel about the upcoming summer?

BamBam: It's supposed to be hot again, right? Because it's summer. Although I can't go out freely, I still hope to get some sun exposure, even if it's just for a little while. The summer sun is harsh, but nice.
