Once upon a time, residents of MingChunyuan Community in Huaxiang, Fengtai District, Beijing, were notoriously "water-poor households." The water used in the community comes from two self-prepared wells, the groundwater level has dropped, the water supply pipeline has aged and the water pressure has been insufficient, and the water has often been cut off in the homes of the upper residents, and the community has often intermittently stopped water. In addition, the infrastructure around the community is not perfect, there is no municipal tap water main line outside, and the municipal water cannot be accessed normally, and the drinking water problem has become a "big problem" that has plagued the community for a long time.

Since the study and education of party history was launched, many functional departments in the whole region have worked together to gnaw down this "hard bone" and form an overall transformation plan of "advancing step by step and conquering it section by section." The functional departments first seized the opportunity of the city's self-owned well replacement policy, gave priority to the use of municipal funds to renovate the courtyard line water supply pipeline of the community, and then optimized the construction process to let the municipal water pipeline cross the 9-meter-high soil slope, bypassing the century-old trees and houses that have not yet been demolished, and passed to the door of the Ming Chunyuan community, so that all 1467 residents of the community drank clean and safe municipal tap water.

To do practical things for the masses, it is necessary to start with the most difficult masses, grasp the most prominent problems, and proceed from the most realistic interests of the masses, aim at the masses' "anxieties, difficulties, and anxieties," and enhance the masses' sense of gain, happiness, and satisfaction.

Only by listening to the people's voices and observing the people's feelings can we understand the will of the people and relieve the people's worries. When you find a problem, you can't rely on sitting in the office and patting your head; only by thinking in a different position can you avoid taking it for granted that you are doing practical things for the people. Sitting on the desk is never as good as entering the village, going down to the ground, and going up to the kangtou. Therefore, only by conducting research and investigation in places where there are many difficulties in development and where the opinions of the masses are large can we truly find out and verify the situation at the grass-roots level and the opinions of the masses. If you want to find the pain points, you must be careful and attentive, learn to "see the six ways, listen to the eight directions", and not despise and ignore every problem reflected by the masses. A zebra crossing, a protective fence, a street lamp, and a network cable may all be the pain points and blockages on the road to the happiness of the masses. Chai rice oil and salt, water, electricity and gas are indispensable necessities in life, which link can not keep up, small things may evolve into major events in people's livelihood work.

Finding the right problem is the premise of doing a good job, and the right medicine is the key to solving the problem. Recently, all localities and departments have successively issued lists of practical things for the masses. These lists should not only not avoid "urgent difficulties and expectations," truly seek truth from facts, and put forward effective solutions; they should also arrange a good construction period to reassure the masses, list the results to reassure the masses, and prevent "big things from turning small" and "writing empty checks."

"One point of deployment, nine points of implementation", the plan is set perfectly, and no strict implementation is a blank piece of paper. "Anxious, difficult, and anxious" are all "hard bones" that are difficult to gnaw on, but since we have promised the masses to do it, we must do everything in a down-to-earth manner with a sense of urgency and mission that the time is not waiting for us, and we must ensure that we will do it and do it well, and we will never give up and discount it halfway. If we do a good job, we must also do it quickly, persist in making immediate reforms, make changes while investigating, and improve the efficiency of our work; procrastination will affect the happiness and satisfaction of the masses, and damage the masses' trust and satisfaction with the people's livelihood work.

Serving the people wholeheartedly is the fundamental aim of our party, and what the people want and what the government wants is the basic criterion for serving the people. Only by always adhering to the feelings of serving the people and continuing to exert efforts in response to the residents' "urgent difficulties and sorrows" can we truly implement practical things for the masses; only by always daring to take responsibility, dare to face tough problems, and dare to innovate can we do good things well and do the work in the hearts of the people.
