In 1987, after Deng Shiming stepped out of the school door of the agricultural school, he plunged into the "three rural areas" work, and worked for more than 30 years. At present, it is spring ploughing, and Deng Shiming's desk is placed on a stack of neat work diaries and "three rural" work materials. The first thing he does every day when he goes to work is to open his diary and check the previous day's visits. In the view of Zhu Zhisheng, a large tobacco grower in Yele Village, Xinlong Town, Deng Shiming is like a "doctor" who specializes in treating difficult and complicated diseases of crops, from seedling breeding and soil cultivation to fertilization and insect prevention, as long as there is a problem in any link, he can give a "prescription" in time.
Deng Shiming's crop "prescription" is by no means a paper talk, and every solution is found in the labor of farmers in rubber shoes. Over the years, he has either been in the field or looking for good varieties that can increase farmers' income.
In 2014, Deng Shiming, who was the first secretary of Yele Village in Xinlong Town, urged the establishment of a standardized fruit planting base in the village through multi-party inspections. "From a small hill, we began to repeatedly try to find a way out, guide farmers to plant excellent varieties such as three red grapefruit and orange, and turn the former barren mountain into a thousand acres of fruit industrial park." Grower Xie Lansheng is one of the beneficiaries. He said that from the land flow to the selection of fruit trees and the control of pests and diseases, Deng Shiming has been tracking the whole process and has not stopped for 7 years.
According to local conditions, the introduction of excellent varieties, personal efforts to promote the construction of agricultural projects, Deng Shiming engaged in agricultural technology service work for more than 30 years, has introduced more than 160 excellent varieties of rice, soybeans, sweet potatoes and other excellent varieties for xintian, promoted dryland seedlings, plastic floppy tray seedlings, hybrid rice high-quality and high-yield cultivation, red heart grapefruit high-yield cultivation and other new technologies more than 30 items, more than 680 "open squares" in the field, more than 3500 trained growers, and has been rated as "advanced workers in agricultural technology promotion" in Hunan Province for many times.
In the eyes of colleagues, Deng Shiming is a true portrayal of the spirit of "three cows". "There is the selfless dedication of the 'widow cattle', there is the 'pioneering cattle' to overcome difficulties, and there is also the hard-working and hard-working of the 'old cattle'."
Today, Deng Shiming is nearly a year old, but on the road of serving farmers and studying technology, he is still like an old cattle quietly cultivating for the "three farmers".
