Zhapo Fishing Port is one of the first six national central fishing ports in China, located on Hailing Island in Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. Hailing Island is one of the ten treasure islands in China, with a jurisdiction area of 95.8 square kilometers, a permanent population of about 60,000 people, a bridge connection between the island and the mainland, and a ring road on the island, so it is very convenient to visit Hailing Island and Zhapo Fishing Port by car.
Zhapo fishing port has a long history, pregnant with a profound fishing civilization, as early as the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the southwest coastal port of the island became a shelter for ships to replenish the wind, and Zhapo Town began to be established. The second time was in 2002, when the Zhapo Fishing Port was designated by the former Ministry of Agriculture as one of the first six national-level central fishing ports, and the construction of the central fishing port immediately began, with a project period of up to 8 years, the construction of a 300-meter high pile wharf, the dredging of the channel, the reinforcement of the breakwater, etc. After the completion of the central fishing port project, the effective utilization rate, load capacity, navigation capacity and wind shelter capacity of the fishing port have been greatly strengthened. The third time is from 2016, the construction project of the modern fishing port on the Zhapo slope was launched. At present, the project is still under construction, and after the completion and acceptance, the infrastructure of the Zhapo Fishing Port will be upgraded as never before.
The fish in Zhapo Fishing Port are mainly high-quality fish such as squid, shrimp, small white pomfret, mackerel, striped fish, and sheep fish, and it is said that more than 500 tons of seafood are traded at the wharf every day.
