Roberto Carlos won the world championship in 2002 as a member of the Brazilian national team alongside his teammates. As a real Madrid player, he won the Champions League for the team three times. In 2020 he was the global ambassador for friendly football for the first time.

The ninth edition of the Football Friendly will be held in digital form from 14 to 29 May 2021. Young players from 211 countries (between the ages of 12 and 14) will be divided into 32 friendly football teams for the 2021 Friendship Football Electronic Championship. The tournament will be played on the football simulator "F4F World", which is available in 27 languages free of charge for MS Windows, Apple MacOS, Android and iOS systems.
Young journalists will cover the events of the ninth edition of the FRATES Football Season at the International Children's Press Centre and share with colleagues the main values of the project: friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, dedication, achievement, tradition and honour.
