Forrest Gump is a film directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Robin White, and others, released in the United States on July 6, 1994.

Adapted from the novel of the same name published in 1986 by American writer Winston Grumm, the film depicts the inspirational story of a congenitally mentally retarded small-town boy, Forrest Gan, who persevered and eventually "foolishly blessed" to be favored by Heaven and create miracles in many fields.
