The interest in sculpture and sculpture comes more from my heart, and I have been paying attention to these special gadgets since I was a child.
The core was bought by a treasure, it is said to be a Large Brazilian Olive Kernel, which sounds quite intimidating, due to its limited tools, coupled with the fact that the craftsmanship is too rusty, although it is the largest number of olive kernels.

The first step, peeling, in order to better see the overall situation of the olive core, remove the skin to see if there are cracks. Avoid doing half of it, and the work will be abandoned. The whole process takes about ten minutes to complete. If nothing else, the olive core is still relatively oily.
The second step, the bottom draft, unless you are familiar with it, it is recommended that you still spend some serious thoughts and mark the structural lines. This can maximize the time saving, and will not lead to the deformation of the work due to mistakes in the later stage.
The third step is to find out the basic structure of the bird, separate the large body composition, and then do a fine carving, from the whole to the part, slowly go deeper. (The superposition of feathers must be based on the correct sculpting steps.) ）
After the carving of the large body, it is necessary to find the small parts of it and go deeper into it, and the layering of the feathers is sorted out little by little.
Find the location of the eye and set the marker. Give the little tail a little dynamic.

The fine lines on the bird can be scraped out in groups with a skinless knife (this process forgot to take pictures), and I personally think that you can carve naturally, and the feeling of the feather texture can do some performance on the wings.
The final presentation effect, originally planned to take the garnet on the wife bracelet as an eye, but put it up to see the effect, felt that it was not appropriate, so I could only stay here for the time being to find the right material.
There are not many fun in life, even a core, can bring you unlimited creative fun.
Some friends may ask, how to polish it.
I used a wire brush and a wool wheel here, personal humble opinion, carving works, especially handle pieces, do not need to be completely polished, too bright things, but will be a lot less fun to play.
