Choi is suspected of taking photos and videos of women in 2016 and uploading them to chat groups. In February of the same year, he was suspected of bribing the police for 2 million won for drunk driving.
On November 13, 2019, South Korean prosecutors sentenced Choi to five years in prison on suspicion of collective sexual violence.
