Ryuichi Hirokawa, 75, is a well-known photojournalist who has won several awards for his work on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and nuclear leaks. In 2004, Hirokawa founded days JAPAN, a monthly photography magazine, and served as editor-in-chief for a long time. In 2008, Guanghe sexually harassed and forced each other to have sex with 7 job-seeking women who were still college students on the grounds that "your photography skills are too poor." In an interview with the exposure magazine, Guanghe denied that he "forced" the other party, but the other party felt his charm, which caused an uproar among readers.
On December 25, Guanghe was dismissed as editor-in-chief and chairman of days JAPAN. Due to sluggish circulation, DAYS JAPAN was scheduled to cease publication after the February 2019 issue. Now that the scandal has come to light, it is uncertain whether the remaining two issues will continue to be released.
