At the beginning of the hit drama "The Forerunner", there was a detail that Comrade Pan Mingyue buried himself in the fire in order to delay time and protect the safe evacuation of his companions.

There was also the same plot in "Kite" before, when Zheng Yaoxian sent Zeng Moyi on the road, he told her that he was his comrade and begged her not to hate him.

It's a special group, it's a group of people with a very special identity.

They were the underground workers of that era, lurking in the camp of the other side, with the enemy every day, always walking with danger.

They risked their lives every time they carried out their mission, but they always had no remorse, just because they always insisted on "faith first" in their hearts and did not regret it until death.

Born in 1911 in Xinyang, Henan Province, Zhou Huinian joined the Communist Youth League at the age of 16 and began to contact the party's transportation work.

In 1929, zhou Huinian, who was just 18 years old, and his companions pretended to be husband and wife and went to Shanghai to do secret work in the organs.

In April 1931, Gu Shunzhang rebelled, and Zhou Huinian, under Kang Sheng's arrangement, was promptly transferred to Gu Shunzhang's secretary Tan Zhongyu to do his ideological work and avoid new vicious incidents.

Unexpectedly, 3 months later, Xiang Zhongfa, then chairman of the CPC Central Committee, was arrested and defected in Shanghai, and Zhou Enlai and others immediately evacuated and escaped danger at Zhou Huinian's residence.

In 1932, her husband was arrested by the Yellow River, had his limbs and head cut off, and died heroically. Zhou Huinian was not intimidated, but continued to do traffic work in Shanghai.

Zhou Huinian and his family

During this period, she was arrested twice, and when she was interrogated, she directly reported a pseudonym Li Zhoushi, insisting that she was illiterate, and that she could not explain the problem, let alone write the first book.

Returning to Yan'an in 1938, Zhou Huinian, as an excellent secret traffic officer, was called "the first female comrade in our party's defense work" by Chen Yun.

Many of her heroic deeds are unknown, but she is actually an unsung hero of our party's underground front.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="36" > Ji Chaoding: Ph.D. from Columbia University, an underground worker directly led by Premier Zhou</h1>

Ji Chaoding's experience is very legendary, he was arrested for participating in the May Fourth Movement in 1919, joined the Party in 1927, and attended the Conference of the Communist International.

At the age of 21, he went to the United States to study, received a doctorate in economics from Columbia University, and worked as a confidential secretary to Kong Xiangxi, who was in charge of economic power.

After liberation he served as Deputy Director of the Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Regular attendance at international peace conferences.

How could such a person have been lurking in an enemy group for decades and not yet been discovered?

It turned out that his secret work in Chongqing was directly led by Zhou Enlai, and no one else in the "Zhou Mansion" in Chongqing knew about it.

Ji Chaoding

Before the civil war, his main job was to try to prevent the United States from aiding Chiang Kai-shek and to study various reasons to prevent the United States from fulfilling the promised aid to Chiang Kai-shek.

At that time, he was deeply appreciated by Lady Kong, Song Xialing, and wanted him to serve in the central bank.

Later, some people within the Kuomintang also began to suspect that he had a relationship with the Communist Party, and at a banquet, Jiang Tingdi suddenly raised a glass to him and said, "For communism.", which was clearly a temptation, and Ji Chaoding astutely took it as a joke to cope with the past.

It is said that on the eve of liberation in early 1949, the "Central Unification" had identified him and decided to arrest him, but at that time he was able to serve in Fu Zuoyi's office and was able to escape from danger.

After liberation, in order to take care of the face of some people who remained on the mainland, Premier Zhou let him appear as a "democrat" for a period of time.

None of this was known to Soong Ching Ling, who she had mentioned to the prime minister that he was unreliable.

Later, we gave full play to the advantages of good English, as long as our delegation abroad had him, the English draft must be reviewed by him at the end.

In 1951, he was invited to give a lecture at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, and was the first New Chinese scholar to lecture in Western countries.

In 1963, Ji Chaoding died of illness at the age of 60, and in his tribute, Premier Zhou personally added a sentence: "In secret work, the mud is not stained."

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="37" > are also "the loveliest people"</h1>

In this group, there are some people like "The Forerunner", Ma Tianmu, Jiang Yunqing, Wu Zhongxin, Chen Lie, and Jiang Jiqing, who are not afraid of suffering, death, and sacrifice.

There are also many unsung heroes, such as the guy who covered Chen Lie's escape, and there are many people who have been betrayed by traitors, who know that the danger is full of dangers, but they are all unswerving to death.

Their work is secret and dangerous, cruel and remarkable.

They guard their "faith" with their lives and are "the loveliest people".
