On October 22, 2021, the 10th Council Replacement Conference of the China Institute of International Relations was held online. Founded in 1980, the China Society of International Relations is an important national academic society and a national first-level society. The Society has absorbed universities and universities with master's and doctoral programs in international relations, international politics, diplomacy and major research institutions on international issues as member units. The secretariat of the Society is located at the Diplomatic Academy.
According to the Statutes of the Society, the Society conducts the change of council every 5 years. The current Ninth Council was elected in June 2015 and expires in June 2020. Affected by the epidemic, the general meeting of the Society was postponed. A total of 178 representatives from 68 member units attended the conference. The main venue of the conference is located at the China Foreign Affairs College. The candidate for the executive vice president of the 10th Council, Researcher Xu Jian, Dean of China Foreign Affairs University, Vice President of the Ninth Council of the China Society of International Relations, Professor Wang Fan, Vice President of China Foreign Affairs University, Secretary General of the Ninth Council, Professor Sun Jisheng, Vice President of China Foreign Affairs University, and all members of the Secretariat attended the main meeting.

First of all, President Xu Jian delivered an opening speech. On behalf of the China Foreign Affairs College, he extended a warm welcome to all academic colleagues who attended the conference online, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the member units for their strong support for the work of the Society.
Vice President Wang Fan made a work report and financial report on behalf of the Ninth Council, which was approved after deliberation by the conference. On behalf of the Secretariat of the Society, Secretary General Sun Jisheng made a briefing on the preparations for the change of the Tenth Council and presided over the election of the new term. The 10th Council of the Chinese Society for International Relations was voted out, with a total of 218 members. The new Board of Directors also deliberated and voted on the newly revised Constitution of the Society, and the new Charter was unanimously adopted.
After the general meeting, the first standing council meeting of the tenth council of the China Society of International Relations was held. The meeting was presided over by Secretary General Sun Jisheng, and Executive Vice President Xu Jian delivered a speech. He first extended warm congratulations to the newly elected vice presidents and executive directors. He said that the competent departments of the society are very much looking forward to the society's active consultation and contribution, international exchanges, and the use of people-to-people diplomacy and academic exchanges to help major country diplomacy, and invited the vice presidents and executive directors to express their opinions and suggestions on how to do a good job in the work of the tenth council. The delegates spoke enthusiastically and put forward a series of valuable opinions and suggestions on the future development of the Society.
Finally, Executive Vice President Xu Jian made a concluding speech, he fully affirmed the suggestions of the delegates, expressed full confidence in the future development of the society, the secretariat of the society will carefully study everyone's opinions, form a specific work plan, deploy and implement in an appropriate way, and hope to work together with the member units to jointly promote the work of the society.
