On 1 November 2021, the Snooker England Open returned to Milton Keynes. Yan Bingtao, O'Sullivan, Higgins, Selby, Trump and Robertson have advanced successively; Allen, Maguire and Lisowski have become the fallouts in the TOP16.

Ding Junhui played Against Andrew Padgett in the postponement of the qualifiers. Born in Wales in 1982, the latter has previously qualified professionally three times but has never stayed in a professional tournament for more than three consecutive years. After a year of "sick leave" last season, Padgett started his career for the fourth time this year. Currently, Padgett is ranked 101st in the world, and has shot a total of 45 shots in his career, and the best result in the ranking tournament is four round of 32.

In the face of the uncompromising "fish belly" opponent, Ding Junhui was still "slow and hot" after the start, and Padgett played a single 52 points to win the first set. After that, Padgett almost forcibly delivered the victory to Ding Junhui. Relying on the continuous delivery of his opponents, Ding Junhui's feel finally slowly recovered, playing a single shot of 60, 61 and 53 points, winning four consecutive sets and beating Pajit 4-1. In the second round, Ding Junhui will play against Tian Pengfei.

Ding Junhui's last pro win dates back to the first round of the Welsh Open on 15 February this year (4-1 Lu Haotian). Since then, Ding Junhui has experienced 5 defeats and 186 days of long "vacation". With this victory over Padgett, Ding Junhui finally ended his professional record of consecutive winless matches in 258 days.

TOP16 Saw three fallouts on the day, with Allen losing 1-4 to Brechel, and Maguire and Lisowski being killed by Mark King and Joyce in the decider. It is worth mentioning that the exits of Allen and Maguire have a positive impact on Ding Junhui's season prospects. Among them, Allen's loss makes Ding Junhui have a high probability of avoiding the powerful Murphy in the 1/8 final of the British Championship, but is in the same 1/8 group as Higgins, who is relatively weak in stability.

Maguire's exit has further increased Ding Junhui's chances of winning the crown, ding Junhui can secure the crown as long as he reaches the final four; O'Sullivan or the player who has already won the championship place can also let Ding Junhui get a ticket if he wins the championship in this tournament.

O'Sullivan hit Lilly 4-1 with 65, 58, 80 and 100 points after losing the first set. Higgins, in his 4-1 win over Zhao Jianbo, scored 135, 99, 68 and 71 points. Both Selby and Trump scored under the 100 in the promotion process. Yan Bingtao still relies on strong stability in the case of not the best feel, 4-1 Lixhill. Robertson scored a 2-89 in a 4-0 clean sheet for Hicks.

Hawkins scored a single 146 points to beat Evans 4-1. Bingham won four consecutive sets after falling behind 0-1, also beating Wu Anyi 4-1. Since the beginning of this season, only four of the actual players have not won, namely: Dean Young -1 draw and 8 losses, Figueiredo -1 draw 4 losses, Evans -2 draws 7 losses, Wu Anyi -2 losses.
