Under the clear sky, the construction site of the Xihong Bridge is still a busy scene, and at the construction site of the main bridge across the river, welding, painting, hoisting and other processes are advancing in an orderly and rhythmic manner. The "prefabricated assembly of bridge components" process adopted by the bridge has effectively improved the efficiency of bridge construction and provided an effective guarantee for the full completion and opening of the bridge at the end of 2022.
According to reports, the Xihong Bridge and wiring project starts from the North Ring Expressway in Jiangbei District to the North Ring Road in Gaoqiao Town, Haishu District, with a total length of about 4.5 kilometers and a total investment of about 3.52 billion yuan. The project adopts the construction form of elevated main line + ground auxiliary road, and sets up 2 fully interchanged interchanges (North Ring Interchange, Tongtu Road Interchange), two pairs of parallel ramps, and a special bridge.
Among them, the main bridge Xihong Bridge is a double-storey single-tower steel truss cable-stayed bridge, the upper layer is an urban expressway with eight lanes in both directions, the lower layer is an urban trunk road, and a two-way six-lane plus non-pedestrian road, which is currently the first urban cross-river bridge in Ningbo that can pass vehicles on both upper and lower levels.
