Goreng, the male protagonist who brings the book into the prison pit, loves to eat snails, and eats in a manner similar to raw snails. Goreng wondered that the upper class did not eat snails, he did not know that the upper class had enough food and did not need to eat snails.
The people who really eat snails are the people at the bottom who have lost their dignity and are caught up in violence. Because, the snail symbolizes man. In Hunger Station, Trimagasi tries to treat Goring as his snail and eat it little by little, but in the end, Trimagasi becomes Gorin's snail, and they become one.
In Hunger Station, Goreng once questioned whether there would be children in the prison pit. His second cellmate told her that the Authority worked very carefully and that there could be no children in the prison pit because it was too cruel here.
However, the symbol of the child in the play is the original intention of human nature. Are there children in the prison pit? This scene represents that his original intention has never changed, and the little girl is the original intention of the hero.
