In October 2021, many parts of Shanxi Province were hit by floods, destroying bridges, collapsing houses, and flooding large areas of arable land. The party branch of Taiyuan Candlelight Volunteer Service Center quickly launched an emergency mechanism, calling on volunteers to actively donate to the disaster area, volunteers moved and responded positively to the order, in just 3 days, a total of 145 volunteers donated, raising a total of 17,070 yuan, of which 27 moral models and good people around participated in the activity.
On October 17, the Party Branch of the Taiyuan Candlelight Volunteer Service Center donated the funds raised 15,070 to the Charity Association of the Civil Affairs Bureau of Qingxu County for the post-disaster reconstruction of the local disaster-stricken people; donated 2,000 yuan, 10 pieces of laundry detergent and other disaster relief materials to the Mengfeng Yunhua Elderly Home in Qingxu County, which was seriously affected by the disaster, and organized the Candlelight Emergency Rapid Response Volunteer Team to carry out comprehensive post-disaster epidemic prevention and elimination of the whole hospital to ensure the smooth transition of the nursing home.
In order to better help the comprehensive epidemic prevention and elimination work in the disaster area, many social institutions such as China Public Welfare Recorder Online and the Taixing Member Home of the Chinese Volunteer Association donated two epidemic prevention and disinfection equipment worth more than 2,000 yuan to the candlelight emergency rapid response volunteer team, contributing to the resumption of production and life in the disaster area as soon as possible.
