Beautiful Czech film actress Jana Brejchova

Born in Prague on 20 January 1940, Jana Brejchova was one of the biggest stars in post-war cinema, performing in about 70 films. Married three times. First, directed Milos Foreman (1958-1962), then actor Vlastimir Brodsky (1964-1980), then German director Urrichsein. The Czech Film Academy won the Second Prize (2004) and the Czech Lion Award (2010) for its many years of contribution to the development of cinematography.

According to Brejchova, she became a film actress very unexpectedly in 1953 at the age of thirteen. But, not for a long time, just a movie. One day, a young man came to the school where she was studying, Ladislav Helge (now a famous Czech film director). He was looking for a girl for Jiri Sequens' film Leaded Bread, and his choice fell on Jana.

In 1954, the film surprised everyone, especially Pidyalka, the character of a poor girl from the outskirts of Prague's Old Town. Jana Brejchova, a slender teenager with thin braids, played an enviable skill role, showing her talent.

Meanwhile, about three years have passed. Jana finally finished her studies and worked as a typist in a business in Prague. Suddenly, the invitation of the film studio "Barrandov" changed her life. After playing the first "adult" role in the film "Vladimir Olmer's Mistakes", new characters followed. In particular, Maria in "The Golden Spider", the relaxed student Markova in "Puppy"... Notably, the film "The Wolf's Pit," made by Giri Wes, won at the 1958 Venice Film Festival and made Janabrejova wildly popular. However, the critic shook his head: "Superior, sincerity is certainly good; Jana is sweet and direct, she is undoubtedly capable, but she is still not a professional artist. What happens next? Jana was happy to agree to attend a special speaking session.

According to Janner, "a difficult but fascinating study began". Then watch the movie. Now she is an experienced artist: she has played more than seventy roles, such a solid list.

One of the films she remembers best as a young man was S. Rostotsky's (1959) "The May Star." In a lyrical novel about spring, the first day of peace and a short meeting between two young men, she plays a young teacher, almost a girl, shy, and a little mischievous. This photograph remains in memory for a long time, it is neither complicated nor deep. However, it appealed to others: an immature innocent charm, a soul just beginning to live, a sweet evil, gentle and kind, shining in the eyes. The premonition of love, the sadness of parting - all fascinated by their transience.

Next, we see Janabrejova in the film "The Highest Principles" (1960) – one of the most important works of contemporary Czechoslovak cinema. It's a film about war, starring wonderful director Jani Krejchik in Jan Drda's story. The film is brave, restrained and angry. With external humility, plot and graphics, it has an inner energy, indifferent eyes, precise character attention. The actress was not in danger of causing emotions. The sober style of the film makes it possible to find out through the poetic veil what the "Star of May" contains: ordinary, mediocre, mediocre, pretty, young, unsuspecting heroines.

There is no doubt that Czechs are proud of this film by Jiri Krejchik. The film was a success in many countries and was presented at international film festivals, winning the Locarno International Film Federation Award (1960). In addition, Jana won the top prize - "Silver Sail" - "the naturalness of the image created for her".

Jana's best roles, however, are those she can be herself. Vojtech Jasny's "Wish", Jiri Krejchik's "Destiny of Life" and "Labyrinth of Hearts", Karel Zeman's "The Adventures of Baron Prashil" offer the actress a grateful opportunity to work in different genres.

In fact, she excels at any genre, drama or comedy that brings joy to the eyes of the audience. On closer inspection, you will see a wide variety of hues in her game, feel pure, and succumb to her spiritual humility and good charm.
