SCHOLES: The "rude" star should no longer play for United

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes criticised Paul Pogba, who was sent off during United's 5-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday.

Pogba was replaced at half-time against Liverpool. By the time he came on, the home team were already 0-4 behind at Old Trafford.

Manchester United's situation got worse in the second half. Mohammed Salah completed a hat-trick and Pogba lost possession, rewriting the score to 5-0.

The French midfielder was soon sent off with a red card. This was due to a terrible late challenge against Liverpool's Nabi Keita.

Pogba's contract at Manchester United expires in 2022. Recently he has been linked to Real Madrid.

According to the Daily Mail, Scholes believes Pogba lacks "discipline" and has "no respect" for Solskjaer and his teammates.

"To say it was a disappointing day is a complete understatement," Scholes said.

"I think we all realise it's difficult and I just feel like the manager is being infected by the mood of a comeback on Wednesday night [Champions League vs. Atalanta].

"We kept thinking back to that game, but against Liverpool you would never do that, they had too much ability.

"I don't think it's a lack of effort. I think tactically they were set up in such a way that it could happen, and unfortunately it did happen.

"Paul Pogba came to the pitch at half-time to try to help the team and maybe get some respect, he tried to stand on the ball, trying to show how strong he was in the middle of the pitch but sent the ball out.

He was then sent off with a ridiculous tackle. Now you're 5-0 behind and there are 10 people left. You wonder if Ole were still in charge at Manchester United, would we still see Pogba wearing a Manchester United shirt?

"Over the past few years, he's caused chaos. Everybody knows what a talented player he is, everybody trusts him, every coach trusts him, tries to sober him up and make him the player he was.

"But in all the commotion, he didn't sign a contract, almost extorted the club. Then he showed up and did something similar.

"Don't get me wrong, it's not Oli's fault. But that's almost part of United's performance today.

"Look, he could be on the field (again), wouldn't he?" But I don't think they'll miss anything if he doesn't.

"He had a lot of chances and he kept saying he lacked stability, but that was just (lack of) discipline and disrespect for your coaches and team-mates, what he did today."
