In less than a month, more than 8,000 black-bellied fruit flies have been inspected by customs, and the source of these black-bellied fruit flies is all pointed overseas, is this a new round of "biological warfare", or is it a momentary interest of some people?
Whatever the reason, smuggling "black-bellied fruit flies" is unjustified. The male black-bellied fruit fly is only 2.5 mm long, which can be crushed by people, but it is not known how much energy its small body contains, and it is not too much to say that it is a "cherry plague god" on its harm to cherries!
What is Fruit-bellied Black-bellied Fly?
Fruit fly is a fly species native to the tropics and subtropics, feeding mainly on rotten fruits, and has described more than 4,000 species, of which fruit-bellied flies are common model organisms. Native to tropical North America, this "little guy" can lay 400 eggs at a time, hatch directly after 22 hours, and in the right environment, it can reproduce for more than 10 generations a year.

How harmful is Drosophila Black-bellied?
Drosophila black-bellied flies feed mainly on rotting fruit. It's just that the way it eats fruit is somewhat peculiar, the black-bellied fruit fly does not directly look for rotten fruit, usually punctures the intact fruit skin, and then uses an egg layer to lay eggs inside the fruit. After the eggs hatch, the larvae feed on the juice and slowly moth to the heart of the fruit, eventually causing the fruit to rot.
This is not the end of it, the larvae break out of the fruit and continue to contaminate other fruits.
The survey showed that the affected fruits were mainly medium and late ripening varieties, such as pears, grapes, peaches, blueberries, strawberries, and cherries, which are the favorites of the black-bellied fruit fly. The damage rate of the fruit can reach 35%, and the maximum can even reach 80%. Prior to this, China's Sichuan Aba, Liaoning Dalian, Shandong Yantai, Henan Zhengzhou, Gansu Tianshui and other cherry production areas, have been found to destroy the black-bellied fruit fly, so they are also known as cherry heartworms.
In addition, bayberry is also one of the most damaged fruits by the black-bellied fruit fly, with a pest fruit incidence rate of up to 60%. Grapes grown in Beijing, Hebei, Henan and Shandong have at most been reduced by 80% due to the black-bellied fruit fly. This is also because Fruit-bellied flies can carry pathogens that cause grape acid rot, causing it to spread between grapes.
Therefore, in the relevant provisions of the Biosecurity Law of the People's Republic of China, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Quarantine of Animals and Plants Entering and Leaving the Country, and the Directory of Animals and Plants and Their Products Prohibited from Being Carried or Mailed into China, fruit flies are "pests" in paragraph 12 of Article 3 listed in the list, and may not be carried, mailed, etc. without quarantine approval.

The black-bellied fruit fly not only brings harm to the safe production of orchards, but also brings losses to dealers. Especially dealers, after purchasing fruit, if they do not control the black-bellied fruit fly, they may infect all the fruits in just a few days.

Tree control. During the critical period of young fruit growth, the tree body is sprayed with drugs to prevent fruit flies from laying eggs to the fruit. At this time, spraying needs to be sprayed at intervals, spraying appropriate amounts, choosing environmentally friendly and non-toxic agents, and avoiding drug residues of fruits.
Physical control
Sweet and sour booby traps. Many successful sweet and sour liquids have a tendency, can use the habits of black-bellied fruit flies to booby traps, sweet and sour liquids can also trap pear small heartworms, leaf curl moths, peach borer borers, red-necked celestial bulls, etc.;
