The National Intangible Cultural Heritage Project was completed to inherit the artistic creation of fish skin and birch bark of ethnic minorities in the Heilongjiang River Basin

Harbin, July 12 (Wang Bo, reporter Shi Yifu) On the 12th, the closing ceremony of the 2017 National Arts Fund funding project "Cultivation of Talents for Ethnic Minorities Fish Skin and Birch Bark Artistic Creation" was held at the Heilongjiang Outer Chinese College, and the traditional skills of ethnic minority fish skin and birch bark art creation in the Heilongjiang River Basin were inherited and innovated.

The trainees in this training are all college teachers and ethnic minority craftsmen who are selected from all over the country to engage in arts and crafts and folk handicrafts through self-declaration. In the intensive training of 4 and a half months and 125 days, more than 30 trainees have significantly improved their artistic accomplishment and creative thinking in the zero-distance learning practice with well-known experts at home and abroad, and have achieved fruitful results.

Through this project, the trainees not only produced exquisite fish skin and birch bark craft works containing a strong national traditional culture and historical atmosphere, but also carried forward and inherited the characteristic art of ethnic minorities, showing everyone the origin, development and innovation of ethnic minority intangible cultural heritage, allowing more people to experience the production and life of ethnic minorities and folk customs, allowing traditional culture lovers to understand the production process of fish skin and birch bark, and also clarifying the inheritance path of ethnic minority intangible cultural heritage. It has enhanced the sense of responsibility and mission of inheritance, cultivated the inheritors of this craft, and contributed to the protection of national intangible cultural heritage.

In addition, after the closing ceremony, the Harbin Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center officially established Heilongjiang Foreign Chinese College as the intangible cultural heritage inheritance base of Harbin and held an unveiling ceremony. (End)
