On November 11, a public commemoration of the animated film HELLO WORLD (directed by Tomohiko Ito, released on 20 July) was held at Higashi Hongan-ji Temple in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, and voice actors Kitamura Makoto (21 years old), Momori Matsusaka (30 years old), and Miharu Hamato (19 years old) attended.
The film tells the story of an introverted high school student who fights to save himself 10 years later and his lover who will lose his life in the future. Since the story is set in Kyoto in 2027, the event blocked the 110-meter road in front of Higashi Honganji Temple, which appears in the play, and laid a red carpet.
Due to heavy rain at around 2.30 p.m., the activists intend to cease their activities at 6 p.m. In the end, although the rain did not stop, when the three people in kimono appeared on the stage, it caused cheers from 1,500 people on the side of the road.
"I can confidently say that this is a masterpiece that will make its mark on the history of animated cinema, and I am very happy to take this first step." Unable to hide his excitement, Kitamura Craftsman Hai was spat at by Matsusaka Momori, "Everyone's enthusiasm is too high, and the sweat of Craftsman Haijun can't be stopped." Kitamura replied, "Yes, I can't stop sweating!" while wiping sweat with a handkerchief.
With a cool smile, Miha Hamaji said, "Higashi Honganji Temple could have spread the red carpet."
A 5.5-meter-long and 10-meter-wide screen was set up in the courtyard, marking the temple's first field screening in its 400-year history. Matsusaka said gratefully, "That's really cool." (Silent/Translation)
