Yang Shoujing (1839~1915) was a native of Lucheng Town, Yidu City, Hubei Province, born on June 2, 1839, to a merchant family in Lucheng, Yidu. In the first year of Tongzhi (1862), Yang Shoujing was admitted to the first year of Tongzhi (1862), and in the fourth year of Tongzhi (1865), he was admitted to the Jingshan Palace to study and teach, and in 1874 he was admitted to the Transcription of the National History Museum. From 1880 to 1884, he served as an attaché of envoys stationed in Japan, and after returning to China, he successively served as the head of the Huanggang Teachings, the Lianghu Academy, and the chief teacher of the Qincheng (later Cungu) Academy. In 1909, he was appointed as an advisor to the Ministry of Ceremonies, and the following year he was also hired as a consultant of the Hubei Tongzhi Bureau. On January 9, 1915, Yang died without illness and died in Beijing at the age of 76. After Yang Shoujing's death, the Republic of China government sent a special car to escort the coffin back to Yidu and bury the Yidu Dragon Nest.
