A murder that costs banker Andy (Tim Robbins) unjustly imprisons him, and the charge of murdering his wife and her lover will imprison him for life. His first appearance at Shawshank Prison makes prison "Big Brother" Red (Morgan Freeman) look at him differently. Red helped him get a stone hammer and a poster of a female star, and the two gradually became friends. Soon, Andy showed his talents in the prison, acting as a prison librarian, and using his financial knowledge to help the prison officer avoid taxes, which attracted the attention of the warden and was recruited to help the warden launder money. Once in a while, he learned that a newly imprisoned thief could testify to help him exonerate him of murder. A glimmer of hope, Andy finds the warden, hoping that he will help him overturn the case. The sinister and hypocritical warden pretends to promise Andy, but behind his back sends someone to kill the thief, so that his only hope of legally getting out of prison is extinguished. Frustrated Andy is not desperate, in a stormy night of lightning and thunder, a hidden escape plan for decades allows him to redeem himself and regain his freedom! Old friend Red, with his encouragement and help, also bravely ran to freedom.

It takes a strong man to save himself, and a great man to save another.

The strong redeem themselves, and the saints purify others.

I guess it comes down to a simple choice:get busy living or get busy dying.

Life boils down to a simple choice: to be busy surviving or to die.

You know some birds are not meant to be caged, their feathers are just too bright.

You know, there are birds that are destined not to be kept in cages, and every feather of theirs shines with the radiance of freedom.

When I first heard the title "The Shawshank Redemption," I thought Shawshank was a personal name. In fact, Shawshank is not one of the two male protagonists in this film, it is a place name, that is, "Shark Castle Prison". This prison is a purgatory on earth, not only because of the cruelty of its jailers and the rampant bullying of prison bullies, but also because of its erosion of the human spirit. Spending life in that long and indefinite confinement seems to survive only if you give up hope and become a walking dead. But Andy, who is serving a life sentence in prison, disagrees with this, as if he is protecting himself with an invisible protective shield, protecting the eternal hope in his heart.

What moves us in The Shawshank Redemption? I think the answers are thousands. After 20 years in prison and 20 years of unremitting digging like water droplets, Andy finally crawled out of a 500-yard sewage pipe on a thunderstorm night and ran to freedom. Andy's friend Ari said in a seemingly senseless but moving way in front of the parole censor after 40 years of detention: "I haven't gone a day without regretting it, and I look back and look back at the past, where that stupid boy committed a terrible crime." ...... But the little boy was long gone, and only this disgusting thing remained, hanging from old age. ")

The Shawshank Redemption is a film that celebrates freedom. What is important is that it shows people the process of attaining freedom, it tells you that freedom cannot be so easy, it may twist and turn, it may tremble in the dark, it may even rely on compromising with the powerful in exchange for its own survival, it tells you that freedom is such a difficult and even necessary process through triviality and filth. In other words, cinema gives freedom or even a complete definition of ideals.

The film tells us that freedom can survive on compromise, but it cannot rely on compromise to achieve freedom. There is a passage in the film, after the release of an old administrator who has spent most of his life in prison, because many years of prison life have institutionalized him, he suddenly loses the confidence to survive in the face of a free life, commits suicide in the room, and the film gives us a paradox. When freedom suddenly comes, it may have lost its glory, because without the support of life, without the endowment of the meaning of existence, freedom is just another prison for you.

In our lifetime, we will encounter "Hailey" and encounter "warden". But how much of this redemption will come from the bottom of one's heart, from one's soul, from one's love? From this point of view, Andy is actually happy. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why a movie can resonate with so many people. After all, with love, the world is beautiful. Many times, the sense of accomplishment depends on our hearts. Shawshank's redemption, redemption is the soul, when we look at our work again, if we all have the spirit of Andy, we can cherish every day at work, every moment in life, cherish every day with children, let children have a healthy and happy childhood because they meet you. So, how rich should our hearts be.

Andy is great, a person's self-help, that is the brave, a person's self-salvation at the same time, but also to achieve the salvation of others, that is a saint. On the shores of Cihuatanio, there is a small hotel with an old dinghy next to it. There was a man standing up there, and it was Andy. Andy, look, Red is here, it's time to go.
